Government Degree College, Sarkaghat, is a very esteemed college, which is located in Barchwar, Sarkaghat, District Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. The college covers a host of under-graduate and post-graduate programs according to different academic interests.
The admission process is simple and can be done very easily. Admissions mostly start during the months preceding the onset of the academic year, right from August-September. Therefore, academic assessments are the primary aspect according to which students are given admissions for most of the programs.
Undergraduate programs are open for applicants who have appeared for the 10+2 examinations from a recognized board. The college offers B.Sc, BA, B.Com, BCA, and BBA courses. Postgraduate programs include M.Sc, MA, and PGDCA. For some specialized courses, the college may also conduct placement tests; this is especially true for some of the self-financed programs like BCA, BBA, and PGDCA.

Degree-wise Admission Process
B.Sc Program
Offered in Physics, Zoology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Botany, and Computer Science. Each program has an intake of 140 students except Computer Science, which has an intake of 80 students. Admission is based on 10+2 academic performance in science subjects.
BA Programs
Subjects include Political Science, Sanskrit, Public Administration, Music, Journalism and Mass Communication, History, Hindi, Geography, English, Economics, and Tourism. Most BA programs have an intake of 80 students; Political Science has 140. Admission is based on 10+2 results.
B.Com
Offered for students interested in commerce education. Admission is based on 10+2 results with a focus on commerce subjects.
BCA and BBA (Self-Finance)
Professional programs, with intakes of 60 and 40 students, respectively. The admission process might require additional criteria in confluence with entrance tests.
Admission is offered to M.Sc. degree courses in Chemistry and Physics, both having 30 students each of intake. The selection is done on the basis of undergraduate performance in the relevant subject.
MA Programs
Available in Political Science and Economics, both having 20 students admitted for each. Admission is done on the basis of academic performance in related undergraduate subjects.
PGDCA (Self-Finance)
Postgraduate Diploma, with 40 students admitted for each course. Admission will also be on the basis of some additional criteria, pertaining to self-financing nature.
As I am student of chemistry student. I got all the the teachers who have PHD they all are well qualified for the jobs. As they are common teachers whose they are well qualified some of them has a very unique way of teaching and that's good side of this college. And the use of lapse are very frequent and they use Labs to teachers more practically. Day focus on new things happening and teach us accordingly with new curriculum.
