Government Swami Vivekanand Mahavidyalaya, Bhopal Admission Process

Government Swami Vivekanand Mahavidyalaya, Bhopal, is one of the reputed colleges imparting higher education in Madhya Pradesh. The college offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses from various disciplines. The whole admission procedure at Government Swami Vivekanand Mahavidyalaya is kept simple and convenient for aspiring students. The college follows a merit-based admission system, which is normal for all government colleges of the country. 

The admission cycle normally starts with the publication of the 12th standard results, with the academic year around July-August.  For undergraduate programs, students who have passed their 10+2 education from any recognized board are eligible for consideration. Selection is mainly based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. For postgraduate programs, candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from any recognized university.

Degree wise Admission Process

BA- The college offers Arts programs at the undergraduate level. Admission into this program is meritbased on the candidate's 10+2 results. To promote diversity, any student from another stream can apply for this course, which provides a broad-based education in humanities and social sciences.

B.Com- In the selection of candidates for the Bachelor of Commerce program, preference is given to candidates who have completed their 10+2 with commerce. The selection is on the basis of qualifying examination marks.

B.Sc- Government Swami Vivekanand Mahavidyalaya offers two main B.Sc programs:
a) B.Sc in Botany, Chemistry, and Zoology
b) B.Sc in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics

To be eligible for admission to these programs, students need to have completed their 10+2 with science subjects. The merit for selection is determined based on the student's 10+2 scores, particularly in the relevant science subjects.

B.Com Computer Applications- This specialized commerce program combines traditional commerce subjects with computer applications. Admission is based on 10+2 results, with preference given to students who have studied commerce and computer subjects.

M.Com- For the Master of Commerce course, candidates must hold a B.Com or equivalent degree from a recognized university. Admission is generally on the basis of marks secured in the Bachelor's degree examination; however, some colleges may conduct an entrance test/interview for candidates.
