Khamargachi B.Ed. College, is a reputed teacher training institution located in the Hooghly district of West Bengal. The college conducts two full-time courses, namely B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), India, is the granting authority of the college, which admits students on merit depending on the marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The admission process at Khamargachi B.Ed. College generally follows a schedule in accordance with the academic calendar of West Bengal. The dates, however, may vary from year to year; hence it is suggested that candidates begin planning for their application months before the commencement of the academic year, which is around July-August.
The B.Ed. eligibility criteria state that a candidate should have a degree or master's degree in a relevant subject from a recognized university. They should have at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD candidates) in the qualifying examination. For D.El.Ed. course admission, the candidate must have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) from a recognized board. The college is run according to admission policies determined by the state government of West Bengal and the university which gives affiliation. In accordance with these guidelines, further conditions may be set for B.Ed. admission selection. D.El.Ed. course admission is subject to directive principles set by the State Government or UT administration.
Application Process
The application at Khamargachi B.Ed. College consists of different stages.

5. Entrance exam: Candidates may appear in the entrance exam, as per the state government or university orders.
6. Based on the marks secured by candidates in the qualifying or entrance examination, the merit list will then be drawn and published by the college for admission to the B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. courses.
7. Selected candidates will be called for counseling, where their documents will be verified and the admission fee paid in order to secure a seat.
8. Orientation: The orientation program shall be compulsory for all the newly admitted students to attend at the beginning of the academic session.
Degrees Wise Admission Process
B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education): The B.Ed. program is a two-year full-time program at Khamargachi B.Ed. College with an intake of 100 students. The admissions to this program are on the basis of merit considering the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. Selection criteria might also include some other criteria as specified by the university concerned. The B.Ed. candidates need to have completed their Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant subject with a percentage of marks required.
D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education): D.El.Ed. is two-year full-time course with an intake capacity of 50 students. Admissions into the program are based on consideration of merit, considering marks obtained in the qualifying examination (10+2) and/or in the entrance exam. The selection is conducted according to the provisions of the rules laid down by either the State Government or the UT administration. To be eligible for this program, candidates need to have passed the Higher Secondary examination from a recognized board.
