Matushri Ahilya Devi Teachers Education Institute, Indore, was set up in the year 2003 in Sulakhedi village in Sanver Tehsil of Indore district in Madhya Pradesh. This is a co-educational institution which is an affiliated college under NCTE that is affiliated with a university and is accredited by NAAC. The institute has a seat enrolment of 342 in total and it has three specialised courses in education that prepare teachers at different levels. 

Matushri Ahilya Devi Teachers Education Institute has various amenities intended for the achievement of a conducive learning environment for the students of the institute. A well equipped library abounds with more than 7391 books like, journals, encyclicals, reference books and many more assisted with twenty one journals and thirty CDs. The computer laboratory with the latest Pentium IV machines and round the clock internet facility updates the learners with the technological developments in field of education. The work experience labdeg and psychology lab offer practical sessions which offer practical learning of course content. It also has a 400 seating capacity hall for hosting seminars, meetings and other events, a cafeteria selling healthy food products and recreation facilities that include indoor and outdoor games. Matushri Ahilya Devi Teachers Education Institute offers three full-time courses in education, B.Ed, M.Ed, and D.Ed. Candidates applying for B.Ed have to sit in an examination for 100 seats, M.Ed has 50 seats for study and D.Ed has 100 intake capacity. These programmes are meant to equip students for any of the tasks in the education system ranging from a primary school teacher to an education researcher and manager. 

The selection criteria for admission at Matushri Ahilya Devi Teachers Education Institute is also on merit and mark sheet of the qualifying examination is taken into consideration for admission as well as entrance examinations where ever required. Admission to B.Ed programme depends on the marks scored by the candidate in the qualifying examination and a state level test if permitted by the state government and university.
