The D.El.Ed programme at the Meerut International Institute of Teachers, Meerut, aims to prepare students for the profession of teaching students at the elementary level. The process of selection into that very programme is based on merit, and the qualifications of the candidate in the qualifying (10+2) examination and the entrance examination, where possible, are used to determine merit.
