Sree College of Education, Namakkal Admission Process

The Sree College of Education Namakkal, with landmarks in teaching efforts. The college is presently recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and runs an elaborate admission campaign to find honest candidates genuinely keen on the teaching profession. The admission procedures adopted by Sree College of Education follows the government guidelines of the state where it is located and other controlling policies put down by the associated university and administration of the Union Territory. The admission is based on performance shown in the qualifying examinations and/or the entrance examination so as to help only those candidate teachers who are best-fit with respect to qualification and motivation into the teacher training programs. 

This admission generally commences before the new academic year, establishing a date for announcements regarding the start and subsequently revealing this information to the public. The most excellent candidates to secure admission into the B. Ed program will have to have an undergraduate degree from a recognized university.  Evaluation may include written tests, interview sessions, and other determinations of the candidates' integration into the Teaching Profession.

Application Process

Being a systematic exercise, the application procedure into Sree College of Education, Namakkal, includes:

1. Notification: The college advertisements are displayed in any of the medias and on its official website to inform everybody that the admission process has commenced.

2. Application Form: Candidates should be able to procure and duly fill in the application form. This could sometimes be available online via the college's web page or at the college admission office.

3. Submission of Documents: Along with the filled application form, relevant documents must be submitted.

  • Mark sheets of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th, and undergraduate degree)
  • Transfer Certificate from the last institution attended.
  • Conduct Certificate
  • Community Certificate (if any).
  • Entrance exam score card (if any).
  • Any other certificates or documents as mentioned by the college.

4. Application Fees: The applicant must pay the application fees as specified. Methods and amounts of payment would be specified in the admission notification.

5. Entrance: If an entrance examination is included in the admission process, the candidate will sit for an examination on the specified date and at the prescribed venue.

6. Merit List: The College shall prepare and publish the merit list based on results of qualifying examination and/or entrance examination.

7. Counselling and Seat allotment: Candidates that have been shortlisted come for counselling, whereby they make their selection on specialisation (if any) of their choice according to their ranks and seats available. 

8. Document Verification: Verification of original documents will be done during the counselling.

9. Fee Payment: Selected candidates are required to pay the course fees within the timeline as indicated in order to confirm their admission.

10. Orientation: Admitted students will attend an orientation program to guide the incoming students in familiarizing themselves with the college, faculty, and curriculum.

Degree wise Admission Process

B. Ed (Bachelor of Education): The two-year full-time B. Ed program at Sree College of Education, Namakkal, aims to prepare competent teacher-educators. Admission into the program is on merit based on the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. There are 100 seats for the B. Ed program; thus, it is competitive yet feasible for aspiring teacher-educators.

The key eligibility criteria for B. Ed admissions generally include:

  1. Graduation from a recognized university
  2. Minimum percentage in qualifying examination prescribed by the college and regulatory bodies
  3. Qualification in the entrance examination concerned, wherever applicable

The selection process mainly consists of the following stages:

  1. Screening of applications received based on the academic performance
  2. Entrance examination (if one is conducted)
  3. Interview/group discussion (if called for under the selection criteria)
  4. Final merit list preparation on the basis of cumulative performance at all levels.
