SRM Institute of Science and Technology—Vadapalani Campus is one of the constituent colleges that was established in 2009, located at Chennai, Tamil Nadu. AICTE authorised institute providing 36 courses in various disciplines under 12 degrees. Located on a small area of 5 acres, the institute has a large number of faculty members—there are 314 faculty members. It is a co-educational institution and accepts students of all genders, thus promoting equal education to all the students. The campus lies in close proximity to SIMS Hospital, which is supposed to provide ease access to medical services to the students.
The institute boasts of well-equipped facilities they have put in place in the institute in order to assist the students. The campus has a large health centre with first aid kits and emergencies provided by the SIMS hospital within the compound. Students can take healthy foods and snacks with little charges at the institution's canteen. The key structural and service infrastructure facility is a large library totally air-conditioned with an area of 7500 sq. ft. and a seating capacity is 150. For the sporting buffs, the university has amenities for volleyball, badminton, chess, basketball, and a ground for cricket. The technology infrastructure is robust, with excellent Wi-Fi coverage and access to computer labs. However, the campus layout can be confusing for new students, and signage is not always clear.
