SRV College of Education, Sivakasi Admission Process

SRV College of Education, Sivakasi and is one of the oldest institutions offering teacher training in Tamil Nadu, India. The college is affiliated to and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), which gives it a focused approach toward the training of future educators.  SRV College of Education follows the admission norms as prescribed by the UT administration, state government, and the affiliated university. The merit-based admission policy of the college selects the candidates based on the performance in qualifying examinations, entrance tests, or any other selection process laid down by the concerned authority.

The eligibility criteria for admission to programs at SRV College of Education are based on the regulations of the NCTE and the university concerned. Candidates should possess a high secondary education certificate (10+2) or its equivalent from a recognized board. Depending on the program being pursued and admission norms at that point in time, some subject requirements may exist along with a percentage specified as a minimum.

4. Submission of Document: Along with the duly filled application form, candidates need to submit the following documents:

  • Original passport-size photographs
  • An original copy of the mark sheets of the qualifying examinations (10th, 12th, and Bachelor's degree)
  • Transfer Certificate from the institution last attended
  • Conduct Certificate
  • Community Certificate (if applicable)
  • Any other certificates/documents mentioned by the college

5. Submitting Application: The duly filled application form along with all necessary documents should be submitted to the college office within the specified timeline. Some candidates have the option to submit the application online if the college has provided that option. 

6. Entrance Exam: If applicable, candidates shall have to appear for the entrance examination as part of the selection process. Details about the examinations such as expected syllabus, exam pattern, and other relevant dates will be conveyed by the college.

7. Merit List: A merit list for selected candidates will be prepared based on performance in the qualifying examinations and/or entrance test and subsequently published on the college notice board and the website.

9. Orientation: Students who are successful in their admission process are required to attend an orientation programme whereby they shall be acquainted with the college facilities, rules, and academic curriculum.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed: SRV College of Education predominantly runs the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program. This course is a two-year full-time training meant for students to enter the teaching profession. Accordingly, the college has an approved intake of a hundred students for the B.Ed.

Admission to the B.Ed program is according to the merit system based on marks scored in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance testing. There may be a few other considerations specified in accordance with the policies of the State Government, UT administration, and concerned university.

Eligibility for B.Ed:

  1. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university.
  2. Minimum percentage in the qualifying examinations may be relaxed as per currently valid criteria framed by regulatory bodies and that of the college.
  3. If applicable, candidates would have to undergo and qualify for B.Ed admissions in the state-level entrance examination or university-level entrance examination.
