St John's College of Education, Vellore Admission 2025: Dates, Application Form, Courses, Fees & Eligibility

St. John's College of Education, Vellore, is a college affiliate the NCTE. It provides a perfect admission procedure for the aspiring teachers.  The admission process aims at selecting candidates for their deserving education programs at St. John's College of Education.  The admission eligibility criteria to St. John's College of Education are laid down as per NCTE's directives and the guidelines of the affiliating university. The candidates must have completed their qualifying examinations from a recognized board/university. Marks earned in qualifying examinations, in addition to entrance examinations, shall vary, or any other selection criteria would be considered for selection as per the policy of the Tamil Nadu state government and the respective universities.

Application Process

There are several steps towards the admission process for St. John's College of Education, Vellore:

1. Notification: The college announces through its official website concerning the commencement of the admission process and through various media channels.

2. Application Form: The candidates need to obtain the application form and fill it up. This could either be online on the college website or in the college office.

3. Document Submission: These are the following documents to be attached along with a completed application form:

• Mark sheets of qualifying examinations
• Transfer Certificate
• Conduct Certificate
• Community Certificate (if applicable)
• Entrance exam score card (if applicable)
• Any other relevant certificates as specified by the college

4. Application Fee: Candidates have to pay the amount of application fee as prescribed in the application form or on the college website.

5. Submission: Fill in completed applications with all required documents plus application fee from due date.

6. Merit List: The college shall prepare a merit list for admission purposes based on the qualifying examination and/or entrance exam criteria of admissions.

7. Counseling: Such candidates who have been shortlisted may be called for a counseling session where they can choose their preferred specialization (if applicable) based on their merit rank.

8. Admission Confirmation: Selected candidates will have to pay the admission fees and complete other formalities to confirm admission.

9. Document verification: All original documents submitted by candidates during admission will be verified by the college.

Degree wise Admissions Process

B. Ed: St. John's College of Education has an authorized intake capacity of 100 students for its Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program. Admission specifications for the B.Ed program will be through merit-based admission. Selection of candidates will be made according to their performance level in the qualifying examination and/or through an entrance examination or by any other selection process as per the laws of the Tamil Nadu state government and the university with which it is affiliated.

Usually, eligibility for pursuing B.Ed includes:

1. Bachelor's degree or master's in related subjects from a recognized university; and
2. Minimum percentage of marks specified by the NCTE and the affiliate university; and
3. Qualifying marks in the appropriate entrance examination conducted, if any.

Currently, the college does not offer any other degree courses like M.Ed, M.Phil, or Ph.D. in Education.
