SVI College of Education, Tiruchirappalli, is an institution of education for teachers, as prescribed by the state government, UT administration, and the university concerned. The college is recognized as a member of the NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education), which ensures that the aspiring teachers in the country receive quality education. To admit undergraduates, college uses the marks obtained in qualifying examination and/or entrance test. Admissions to the postgraduate programs are open to candidates on the basis of merit score in qualifying examination, entrance examination, or other selection process as per the authorities. Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): The B.Ed course for candidates seeking admission at SVI College of Education has an approved intake of 100 students. The admissions are purely merit-based according to marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The selection procedure follows the policies formulated by state government, UT administration, and the university concerned with it. This program is a two-year full-time course aimed at providing all-inclusive training to aspiring teachers at the undergraduate level.

M.Ed (Master of Education): The M.Ed program has 50 seats and underwent the same merit-based procedure for admissions. Candidates are chosen in accordance to their performance in the qualifying examination, entrance examination, or other selection process mentioned in the policies of the organization of the state government, university, or UT administration. It is a two-year postgraduate program in which the students are given advanced training and specialization in education.
