Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Karad was established in 1982. The institute acquired the status of a Deemed to be University in 2005. KIMS Karad is recognised by the Malaysian Medical Council and Medical Council of Sri Lanka. The institute lies with an area of 55.24 acres. The institute also has a hospital inside the campus which provides several facilities including Critical Care, Endoscopic Surgeries, Dialysis, Cardiology, Cardio-vascular-thoracic-surgery, Oncology, Urology, Neuro surgery, Plastic surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Renal Transplant Unit. All the courses provided to students under this institute are approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The institute provides undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and doctoral programmes on various disciplines. - Hostel- There are 12 hostels provided inside Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Karad campus for boys and girls. All the hostels are provided with basic facilities including washrooms, common room, reading room etc. The hostels are also provided with mess facilities of their own which serves quality and hygienic food to students.
- Library- The institute library is well equipped with 31176 books, 247 journals and 17 e-journals providing necessary information to students and staff regarding any researched topic. The library also has a capacity to accommodate 572 students. The library is also provided with Wifi and internet facilities to enable easy access to information.
- Transport- The Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Karad also provides transport facility to students and staff for their easy commutation. All the buses leave and arrive at the college campus on time. All the students and faculty who commute daily by buses board the buses on time.
- Canteen- A canteen is also provided inside KIMS Karad with a capacity to accommodate 50 persons. The canteen serves quality meals and snacks to all students and staff.
- Auditorium- All the important conferences, meetings, seminars etc are conducted inside the auditorium. The auditorium of Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Karad is provided with a seating capacity of 1000 persons.
- Guest House- Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Karad also has a guest house which is provided with all basic facilities including drinking water, rest rooms and common rooms etc. The guest house is also provided with a power back-up of 24x7.
- Medical Facility- The institute also has a healthcare unit which provides medical treatment to students and staff at affordable rates. The healthcare unit has trained medical officers to provide treatment to students and staff.
