Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth Karad, formerly known as Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), established in 2008 is a “Deemed To Be University” located in located in Western Maharashtra. The University has received accreditation from NAAC with an 'A+' grade and has been awarded the ISO certification.
The Krishna Hospital and Medical Research Centre (KH&MRC) is acknowledged by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH). KVV Karad offers full-time undergraduate courses such as MBBS, BDS, B.Sc, B.Pharma, and BPT, with durations ranging from 2 to 5.5 years. They also offer postgraduate courses including M.Sc, MD, MDS, MS, MPT, and M.Ch. To get into undergraduate programmes like MBA and BDS at KIMS Karad, candidates need to pass the NEET UG entrance exam. However, admission to the diploma programme at KVV Karad is based on merit. For BPT, B.Sc, and B.Pharma courses, candidates must take an online test. On the other hand, for postgraduate programs at KVV Karad, candidates need a valid score in either the NEET PG or NEET MDS exams.

The college has adequately sized 1100 bedded hospital in the campus. The college takes a batch of 200 students. The lecture halls, demonstration rooms and the laboratories are quite spacious for the accomodation of the whole batch. The lecture halls have centrallised AC, are equipped with modern day teaching equipment like smart boards along with the traditional ones- blackboard. The laboratories are well maintained, have all the required equipment and chemicals. The whole campus is Wi-Fi zone.
