Ajijur Rahaman College of Education, Murshidabad, as an affiliated college for teacher education. The merit-based admission procedure is strictly adhered to by the State Government of West Bengal and the Affiliating University policy. The two main courses the college provides are D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education) and B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education), both being full-time and of two years duration. The process of admission at Ajijur Rahaman College of Education is meant to choose deserving candidates based on academic qualifications in the qualifying examination and/or in a relevant entrance examination.

Application Process
The process of application for both D.El.Ed. and B.Ed. programs of Ajijur Rahaman College of Education broadly covers the following steps:

Degree wise Admission Process
D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education): Ajijur Rahaman College of Education with its D.El.Ed. program trains those who aspire to be teachers for elementary schools. This program admits 100 students into the course as per sanctioned intake. Admission to this program is thus merit based whereby an applicant's score on the qualifying examination and/or the entrance examination is being factored in. This selection procedure follows the policy of the state government of West Bengal.
B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education): Like the D.El.Ed., the B.Ed. program also has an intake of 100 seats sanctioned. The admission procedure for the B.Ed. course is quite similar to that of D.El.Ed. on a merit basis. The candidates are adjudged on the basis of the marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. Therefore, for the program, the college follows the admission rules framed by the State Government of West Bengal and the Affiliating University.
