Dhali Institute of Teacher Education (DITE), Hasnabad, is a co-educational institution recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The institute strives to impart quality teacher education and follows a merit-based admission policy. DITE follows the admission procedures laid down by the State Government of West Bengal and its affiliating university.
DITE provides two regular courses of teacher training: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.). Both these courses are two-year courses and aim to train the students for teaching professions at various levels of schooling.
Application Process
According to the general admission procedures of West Bengal teacher education colleges, the following steps are anticipated:
1. Notification: DITE will publish a notice for the initiation of the admission process through diverse media sources and its official portal.
2. Application Form: The candidates will have to procure and fill in the application form. This can be downloadable on the institute website or in hard copy from the institute admission office.
3. Document Submission: Along with the filled-in application form, the candidates will have to submit documents like:
4. Entrance Examination: Subject to the course and prevailing admission policy, the applicants may be required to sit for an entrance test.
5. Merit List: Based on the merit secured in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test, a merit list shall be prepared and announced.
6. Counselling and Admission: The shortlisted candidates would be invited for counselling, during which they must fill their documents and undergo the admission procedure, including fee payment.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education):
Strength of DITE B.Ed. course has been approved for 100 seats. Admission to the course is conducted on a merit basis, taking into account the marks secured in the entrance test and/or qualifying test. The procedure of selection of choices could differ as per the policy of the state government and the affiliating university. The application for admission to B.Ed. course has to have passed the bachelor's degree or equivalent examination of a recognized university.
D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education):
DITE has 100 seats in D.El.Ed. course. Admission process for the course is referred as following merit-based system also. Admission is conducted based on merit in qualifying examination and/or entrance examination, as will be decided by the state government or UT administration. Admission in the D.El.Ed. course generally calls for pass in 10+2 or equivalent qualification from a recognized board.
