This is a very famous institution for excellent teacher training. It has specialized degree programs in education and recognized by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and it also has the approval by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Hence, the admission process at Government College of Education, Jalandhar aims to have the best students for its B.Ed and M.Ed courses. Degree wise Admission Process
B.Ed: The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program at the Government College of Education, Jalandhar is characterized by a tough admission procedure. All candidates need to take part in a combined entrance test conducted by the State University that is usually held in July for admission into the B.Ed course for every year. Based on the scores attained, the merit list is prepared. Of the total allotment, the college reserves 85 percent of the seats for the state pool category and the 15 percent for the All India category. It is through merit consideration of marks secured in either qualifying examination and/or entrance test that the admission is granted.
M.Ed: The Master of Education (M.Ed) program has an approved intake of fifty seats. The M.Ed admission procedure will basically depend on merit and, therefore, calculated from the marks obtained in the qualifying examination (B.Ed or equivalent) and/or an entrance examination. Further other criteria also may be incorporated as per policy of State Government/UT Administration in the selection process.
