Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar is a public state university established in 1969 by the State Legislature Act No. 21 of 1969. The university has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A++’ grade. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has conferred the varsity with status of “University with Potential for Excellence” in the year 2012. It is also known as GNDU Amritsar. The campus of the university covers an area of 500 acres. The varsity has 43 teaching departments and two regional campuses. At present, 165 colleges are affiliated to GNDU Amritsar.
The university offers a total of 124 courses at diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. For admission to courses offered by Guru Nanak Dev University candidates need to appear for the entrance examination conducted by the university. JEE Main and NATA scores are accepted for admission to B.Tech and B.Arch programmes. The varsity has signed MoUs with various overseas and domestic universities to provide exposure to the students. GNDU Amritsar students can avail scholarships available on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). The campus of Guru Nanak Dev University has modern and upgraded facilities & infrastructure for the convenience of students. The university sports teams participate in numerous state and national level competitions.

The 500 acres campus of the university has a large number of facilities for students. GNDU Amritsar facilities help students to spend hussle free time at the campus. For the accommodation of students, the varsity has 3 boys hostels and 4 girls hostels. The library of the varsity - Bhai Gurdas Library has an adequate number of reading materials for students. The university in which I studied is very amazing. All departments are fully facilitated and equipped. If I talk about my department it has all the equipments which we use in our practical sessions not only this but also the practical class room are well organized as well as the sitting and ventilation in theoretical classes is also good . Apart from this , University has a good reputation regarding to the living facilities like hostel and food to students who lived far from their house .
Yes, Its has all the necessary infrastructure and all , they provide best facilities and best equipment. They have e-classroom with latest technology and e-board, Labs are high tech and library are good. surroundings are neat and clean.
