Government Degree College, Kangra has recognized an institution of higher learning accredited by NAAC and situated at Matour, District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. The Government Degree College usually considers merit on the 10+2 or any other equivalent examination for admitting students to the college. This is in general conformity with the government college rules within the state, so that the student who has done well academically can be admitted. The undergraduate programs offered by the institution include Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). Both programs are full-time running for three academic years. It endeavors to provide quality education in arts and commerce disciplines to prepare students for further studies along with their entrance to the job market.

Bachelor of Arts (BA): The BA program at Government Degree College, Kangra, is three years long and a complete undergraduate degree. Entry into this program should be merit based on students' results in the 10+2 examination or equivalent. The total fee collected was Rs. 7,245, which makes it quite affordable for students pursuing higher education in subjects related to arts.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com): This university offers full-time three-year B.Com. The various entry requirements most likely depend on students' academic performance in the 10+2 and or any equivalent examinations. For the B.Com program, the total fee is a bit heavier than that of the BA program at Rs. 7,965, but still is affordable to many students.

Both programs aim to strengthen students' bases to prepare them for future studies or to enter a job market.
