Government Degree College, Sanjauli (GDC Sanjauli) is one of the renowned and oldest college was established in 1969 in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Located in the beautiful Himalayan Zone this is affiliated college spread over five land and eight annas of area. GDC Sanjauli was established more than five decades ago and has continued to provide quality education to the students from different strata. It has 2,768 students and 56 members of a faculty. NAAC certified, GDC Sanjauli is a maligned by diverse, it provides 11 courses in 8 degrees in areas of different fields and interests for the students who have different goals in their life.
From private colleges, the college boasts of modern facilities for learning that’s responsive to the students’ needs. The library, a place you go to seek knowledge, has more than 32,000 books of all the disciplines taught in the college. Students can borrow in the General Section 26000 books and in the Book Bank 6000 books. The library also products 28 newspapers, 35 magazines/journals and 3 computer and electronics, so that the students are abreast with information in their fields of specialisation. Boys Hostel is another facility available with outstanding facilities which include a large reading room, Internet facility and Television with satellite channel for entertainment and news update. The college also has well-endowed laboratories, an audiovisual hall for events, and seminars, canteen and cafeteria, state-of-the-art information technology and communication, gym, and other sports facilities to ensure an overall growth of students.
GDC Sanjauli has designed the prospectus in a way that it encompass ever subject of interest to provide all the needed courses. The college offers 11 courses of which are undergraduate and postgraduate and the all of them are full time. The course offering encompasses Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer Applications, Vocational and many more. Contract academics among other popular courses for a degree offer programs like BA, B.Sc (Medical and Non-Medical), B.Com, BCA and BBA, B.Voc in Hospitality and Tourism, B.Sc in Retail Management and Double majors in MA English and Hindi Media and PGDCA.

Infrastructure is good , buliding are okey okey but the library is full of nice books , washrooms can get better College infrastructure plays a major role in shaping a student’s overall learning experience. Most well-developed colleges today focus not only on academics but also on providing modern facilities that support comfort, accessibility, and holistic development. A good college infrastructure usually includes spacious and well-ventilated classrooms equipped with smart boards, projectors, and proper seating arrangements. Libraries are another key highlight, offering a wide range of textbooks, reference materials, and digital resources that help students in both academic and competitive exam preparation. Laboratories, especially for science and computer-related courses, are essential for practical learning and hands-on experience. Many reputed colleges also provide Wi-Fi-enabled campuses, clean cafeterias, and dedicated study areas that encourage group discussions and self-study. Sports facilities such as grounds, courts, and gyms are important for physical development and stress relief.
