Jaiganj Institute of Education and Training is situated in Murshidabad, it is a co-educational teacher-training institution with programmes concerning education. Admissions happen through the merit base of marks secured in either qualifying examinations or entrance examination, as per the DSE guidelines of the state government and that of the affiliated university. The major two programs offered by this institution are B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. These programs are regular ones spanning for a duration of two years and offer intensive teacher training exercise. 

For B.Ed. course admission is merit adopted from the qualifying examination or entrance examination as per guidelines established by the government of the state and the university. Likewise in the case of D.El.Ed., admissions will follow similar procedures as the B.Ed. admissions, where the admissions are given either on merit in the qualifying examination or through an entrance test conducted as per the policy of the concerned State Government/UT Administration.

Application Process

Although specific details on the application process are lacking, one can infer from the broad admission process that such a procedure can be followed under both B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. programs:

1. Eligibility: This is a very significant point to be verified for the admission process of the selected program i.e. whether it is B.Ed. or D.El.Ed.;

2. Entrance exam: Attend the entrance test pertinent to the programme as prescribed by the state government or the university.

3. Application: Obtain and fill the application for relevant programmes. Obtain from the website of institution or from its office.

4. Submission of Documents: Submit the duly filled application form along with all relevant documents which include: 

• Mark sheets of qualifying examinations, 
• Entrance exam score card (if applicable), 
• Proof of date of birth,
• Category certificate (if applicable) and
• Any other as instructed by the institute. 

5. Merit List: Wait for the merit list as declared based on the qualifying examination scores and/or entrance exam authorities.

6. Counselling and Seat Allotment: If shortlisted, undergo the seat allocation process through counselling.

7. Payment of Fees: Payment of fees after allocation of seats to confirm admission.

8. Document Verification: Submit original documents for verification as required by the institute.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education): Jiaganj Institute of Education and Learning has approved intake of 100 seats for the B.Ed. course. Admission to the programmes is merit based, with the consideration of marks attained in qualifying exams, and/or entrance exam. The selection is done basically in accordance with the policies established by the state government and the affiliated university. The total fee for B.Ed. program is Rs. 1,50,000.

D.El.Ed.: Such diplomas opened the door to 50 seats. The admission procedure follows the one above concerning B.Ed., that is, merit is based on the qualifying examination and/or the entrance examination. Admission processes are also prescribed by the respective state government or administration of UT concerned. Total fee in the D.El.Ed. program will be Rs 96,000.
