JJR College of Education, Visakhapatnam, admits aspiring teachers in a very transparent manner that is fair by all means. With provisions for higher education in a 3-acre campus duly approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the admission process for both B.Ed and D.El.Ed programs is conducted on the basis of entrance examinations at the state level.
For B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): 80% of the seats are filled based on rank obtained in the Education Common Entrance Test (EDCET) of the state. For D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education): 80% of the seats are filled sustainably with merit in the Diploma in Elementary Education Common Entrance Test (DEECET).
The remaining 20% in both programs are reserved for NRI candidates and those seeking admission under the management quota in the B category. Entrance exams for both courses are mostly given once a year. Students are advised to check the EDCET and DEECET official websites for up-to-date information on dates and admission procedures.
The application process of JJR College of Education slightly varies with the program B.Ed or D.El.Ed and A-category or B-category admission. The following is the overview of the application process:
Entrance Examination: Candidates first must attempt the respective entrance examination that is EDCET for B.Ed and DEECET for D.El.Ed.
Application Submission: Qualified candidates after the entrance exam results take part in the counseling process through respective authorities.
Documents Verification: The shortlisted candidates have to present for the documents verification process. The main documents could be:
Entrance exam rank card
Class X and XII mark sheets and certificates
Graduation mark sheets and degree certificate (for B.Ed applicants)
Category certificates (if applicable)
ID proof with present address
College Reporting for Seat Allotment: Seat allotment is granted from A-Category, that is 80% of the seats, based on the counseling of the candidate’s rank and choice of college, standing by.
College Reporting: After the allotment of seats, the candidate needs to report to JJR College of Education for the formal admission processes.
The B-Category Admission: For the 20% NRI and management quota seats, applications must come directly from the candidates to the college, and the college has details of the admission procedure.
Fee Payment: The candidate needs to pay the requisite fee to secure the admission.
B.Ed (Bachelor of Education)

Eligibility: Candidates must qualify in the EDCET examination. 80% of the seats are filled through rank-based counseling (A-Category), while 20% are reserved for NRI and management quota candidates (B-Category).
D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education)
Intake: 50 students
Eligibility: Candidates must qualify in the DEECET examination. 80% of the seats are allotted based on merit in the DEECET, and 20% are reserved for NRI and management quota candidates.
