KK Handique Government Sanskrit College was founded in 1970. It is one of the well-known interpose situated in Jalukbari, Guwahati, Assam. This affiliated college is an institute of Sanskrit learning and culture that actively ensures the promotion of Sanskrit language. This college comprises of traditional education as well as the modern methods of education and is NAAC accredited. The college has 143 total enrolment & 12 total faculty strength which gives it the strength it needs to give a focused environment in order to mug up. It teaches 10 subjects in 2 degrees, and the focus is on Sanskrit, Yoga, Meditation, Jyotisha, Tantra.

The boys’ hostel is provided on the college campus but the girls’ hostel, which began in the 2014-15 session, is taken on a rented building nearby. 

KK Handique Government Sanskrit College has a 10 course portfolio which comprises of full time undergraduate programmes and diploma. Entry of 50 students The BA Sanskrit Major is the flagship course. Others are Diploma and PG Diploma in Yoga and Meditation, Diploma in Jyotisha and Diploma in Tantra. These are one to three year courses intended for students, who have a desire to learn the traditional Indian knowledge systems and practices. The total student intake for all the courses is 143.
