Krishna Menon Memorial Government Women's College Kannur is a pioneer women's college affiliated to Kannur University in Kerala. The college has an exhaustive admission procedure solely based on proving merit by all selected female candidates for its undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Being an affiliated college, the admission process is primarily through the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) of Kannur University. It is expected that the admission cycle would closely follow that of Kannur University. This means that although specific dates can differ from year to year, the admission process generally commences sometime around May-June, upon announcements of the 12th standard results for undergraduate admissions. Postgraduate degrees may follow a similar trajectory or may have a separate timetable.
The eligibility to be admitted into a program differs according to the type of department. For courses at the undergraduate level, candidates have to pass 10+2 from a board recognized. For a postgraduate course, applicants should have earned a bachelor degree relevant to master's study. The eligibility requirements established by Kannur University and Available by the Government of Kerala are strictly followed by the college. As specified in CAP, candidates have to register in the admission portal of the university and fill the forms. The selection is done mainly on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination for the candidates. The college will implement reservation policies as directed by government policy for inclusive education.

Degree-wise Admission Process
BA Programs: English, Economics, History, and Malayalam are the BA programs available in the college, with admission occurring through the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) of Kannur University. Different programs offer different numbers of admission capacities: BA English-30 seats, BA Economics-40+30 seats (Batch B), BA History-40 seats, and BA Malayalam-30 seats.
For B.Sc Programs: There is provision for B.Sc. Programs in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. Admission to this course is through CAP; each program admits 24 students.
MA Programs: The MA programs include MA English and MA Development Economics, each limiting its intake to 15 students. The admissions to these courses are held through the university CAP as per the eligibility as well as reservation norms of the university.
M.Sc Program: M.Sc in Chemistry is offered; the total intake is 12. The admission process is similar to that followed for other postgraduate programs conducted through the university CAP.
Ph.D Program: The college offers a Ph.D program in English Language and Literature with (6) seats. The process of admission follows the university guidelines in admission at doctoral levels.
I was studying BSc Chemistry, Teachers were good. They motivate us to go high level . Teachers will give lecture notes for us. They conduct national level seminars. I think our curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in the field
I studied BSc mathematics there.The course was good.The Teachers were good and supportive. Curriculum is updated to an extent.The student who got first rank in BSc maths in 2022 studied in this college.
Bsc Mathematics teachers are very good .they help to improve our self confidence and they are very friendly to students .after graduation some students go for pg some students go for B ed ,TTC ,bank couching for jobs
