Maratha Mandal Engineering College (MMEC) was set up in 1997 at Belgaum, Karnataka. This affiliated college, recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education approved by the Government of India, provides various undergraduate engineering courses of four years on its huge premises of 14 acres. MMEC Belgaum is has the total strength of students 443 and the institution has tied with 54 numbers of faculty members. The college has a diverse learning culture with a technical training approach, and has developed 8 programmes in 2 levels of study in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical Engineering and other growing disciplines like Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.

MMEC Belgaum has contemporary amenities for students for their education as well as for their all-round development. The college also contains the library which occupies the area of 2879.26 sq.m., and contains more than 24417 books, besides, the site provides access to the online publications of the most famous publishers such as IEEE, Springer, and Elsevier. To support practical performance, the institution has functional practical laboratories for each department. It contains wireless connection throughout the campus, students have access to the computers. The students who prefer balanced diet and also need time to engage in sporting activities are able to access the sporting facilities. The college also has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls which has facility of geysers, TV rooms etc. reading space.

To meet the diverse needs of its students and market needs, MMEC Belgaum has designed several engineering programs. 6 BE programmes, and 2 full time Ph.D programmes are offered by the college and all of the courses are full time. The undergraduate programmes are Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Robotics & Artificial Intelligence. The college teaches doctoral courses at the Ph.D. level in the areas of Mechanical Engineering and Physics.The aggregated BE/B Tech approved intake for the undergraduate programmes is 240 with Computer Science and Engineering approving the maximum number of 90 seats.

Thus, admission to all the programmes at MMEC Belgaum, for the most part, depends on the candidate’s KCET scores. This examination done at state level is the main channel through which students who are aspiring to join this college find their way into various engineering programmes offered within the institution. With regard to admittance, certain schools might have different schedules every academic year but, for the most part, students will need to monitor the KCET schedule where this examination is held in April or May.
