Hence, the new B.Ed. candidates must take the Pre-Teacher Education Test (PTET) conducted by the state government and score appropriate marks for admission to the B.Ed. program. On the other hand, merit for the D.El.Ed (previously B.S.T.C) is determined through the entrance examination conducted by the state government. Eligibility criteria generally encompass a bachelor's degree or other qualification thereof from a recognized university. However, requirements as well as age limits may differ and are mostly determined by that particular state education department that is carrying out the entrance tests.

Admission Process Degree-wise
B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): The B.Ed. program at Maruti Nandan Teacher Training College permits the intake of 100 students. Admissions to the program totally depend on the merit obtained in the Pre-Teacher Education Test (PTET) conducted by the state government. There is no direct admission or transfer into Maruti Nandan Teacher Training College. Due to the fact that only the security of a position in the PTET merit list qualifies students for admission to the B.Ed. program of the college, the academy accepts no new students outside of this test process.
D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education): Previously D.El.Ed used to be referred to as B.S.T.C, the system of admission is similar to that of B.Ed. The admission of aspirants will depend on qualifying in the entrance test conducted by the state government. The entrance examination will draw a merit list from the entrance examinations results. This two years full time course is aimed at preparing students for teaching at the elementary education level, although there might not be an exact number of seats stated.
