The Mata Harki Devi College of Education for Women has an approved intake of 200 seats for the B.Ed course. Merit-based admissions are made in the B.Ed course on the basis of the marks secured in the qualifying exam and/or entrance exam. The process of selection is in line with the state government, U.T. Administration, and affiliated university policy. The duration of the programme is two years.
The D.Ed course has 50 seats and has a special admission procedure. Apart from the normal admission requirements, the candidates have to appear for an extra Urdu language exam of 30 marks. This examination is done to evaluate the knowledge of Urdu among the candidates. Candidates have to obtain a minimum of 33% marks in this Urdu exam to be considered for admission. But it should be noted that though it is compulsory to pass this test, the marks obtained in the Urdu test are not counted while calculating the overall merit for admission. The duration of the D.Ed programme is also two years.
