Hello Shibani,
CEED is an abbreviation for Common Entrance Examination for Design, which is administered by IIT Bombay for admission to M.Des (Master of Design) programmes at IIT Bombay, IISc Bangalore, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Kanpur, as well as Ph.D courses in Design at a few institutes.
The NIFT entrance exam is administered by the National Institute of Fashion and Technology for admission to its several design programmes.
The CEED exam is for admission to master's or doctoral degrees, but the NIFT exam is for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
If you are an undergraduate, you must prepare for NIFT, and if you want to pursue a master's degree, you must try to pass both tests so that you have a choice.
As for exam pattern,
Both exams have a slightly varied exam pattern.
The CEED examination (conducted by IIT, Bombay) is divided into two sections: A and B. Section A will have 41 questions, while Section B will have 5 questions ( 20 marks each question). Both sections will be worth 100 points each. Part A will be computer-based, whereas Part B will be pen-and-paper-based.
Part A will serve as a screening test, and those who pass it will be evaluated for Part B.
And for NIFT, the GAT paper for B.Des will comprise of 100 questions, for a total of 100 marks. And the number of questions for B.F.Tech will be 150. The exam is paper-based and takes place offline.
Despite the fact that the syllabus for both exams is very similar (CEED And NIFT)
So you can surely give both the exams same time
Hope that helps you
All the best

HI,
The GAT paper comprises academic subjects like Reasoning, Mathematics (class X level), English Language, and Comprehension. The Business Domain segment needs a three-pronged approach with studies in static GK, current affairs, and fashion and industry awareness
English:
The questions are based on grammar and syntax. Questions are based on these areas – synonyms, antonyms, idioms & phrases, spot the errors, cloze test, fill in the blanks, sentence correction, analogies, spelling errors, one-word substitution, and ordering of sentences/passage. Try to build your vocabulary extensively.
Reasoning:
Verbal and non-verbal – series, coding-decoding, directions, ranking, sitting arrangement, syllogism, calendar, clocks, eligibility criteria, blood relations, cubes and dices, line counting, graph, puzzles, etc.
General Knowledge and Current Affairs (Fashion GK included):
It comprises static GK and current affairs, with a focus on fashion-oriented GK for which candidates need to have updates from the fashion firmament. Read newspapers and fashion magazines. Watch TV for brand endorsements and taglines. The GK section mainly carries fashion, brands, logos, fashion terms, entertainment events, celebrities, Miss World and Miss Universe titles, fabrics, and questions related to recent fashion trends. Learn about sports, culture, and the history of India. Be knowledgeable about current affairs related to political developments of national importance, social issues, and a bit about the economy.
Mathematics:
Number system, ratio proportion, averages, ages, profit and loss, speed time, upstream & downstream, mixtures & allegations, pipes, and cisterns, work time, simple interest, compound interest, mensuration, set theory, trigonometry, height & distance, permutation n combination, and probability.
NIFT Delhi boasts a modern and well-equipped campus that provides a conducive environment for creativity and learning. The infrastructure is designed to meet the needs of aspiring fashion professionals, with state-of-the-art facilities that cater to every aspect of design education. The campus houses spacious classrooms, design studios, and well-stocked libraries. The design studios, in particular, are equipped with the latest technology, sewing machines, and pattern-making tools, which are essential for hands-on learning. The fabric library is extensive, giving students access to a wide variety of materials to experiment with. The campus also features well-maintained hostels, canteens, and recreational areas, ensuring that students can maintain a balance between academic and personal life. The campus is located in the heart of Delhi, which further adds to its appeal, offering students easy access to major fashion events, exhibitions, and industry hubs. The campus's aesthetics are modern and professional, fostering an atmosphere that promotes creativity and innovation. However, with its heavy focus on practical work, there could be an increased emphasis on upgrading and expanding certain areas, especially as the institution continues to grow. Overall, the infrastructure at NIFT Delhi supports the learning needs of students and helps them prepare for the competitive world of fashion.
The college infrastructure is great. The library is really good and has air conditioning. the college doesnt have sports centre or hostel. the canteen served food is fine. but there is not much cleanliness in the canteen. overall the college is fine except some issues.
Overall infrastructure is good, has a library, a resource center. One can get a good resource that is not available outside the campus, for examples books and magazines that are not available outside at any bookstore
