Overhyped college and nowhere near Mamc or any Delhi college... RESEARCH Culture is poor and tier 2 city like Lucknow is very poor. Overall just overhyped by people who are here. Choose another college above it as it has everything which this so called good looking college doesn't have.

The building of the college is simply amazing, not less than some palace. Made in the style of ancient architecture, the college offers world class facilities in the field of medical. It focuses both on practical knowledge as well as theoretical. Students get immense amount of opportunities like seminar, internships etc to polish their skills. Being in a city like Lucknow, it makes the life of a student more happening and easier. Hostel and mess food is good.

Truly One of the most premier medical schools of India

Batch of 2021 | MBBS
KGMU is one of the dream medical colleges of students of North India, especially of the 2 lakh medical aspirants from Uttar Pradesh. Being an AIIMS 110 ranker, I had earlier gotten all other AIIMS in 1st counselling except Delhi. I studied in AIIMS bhopal for a month and after the NEET results were out, I switched to KGMU via NEET counselling. What a joy it has been to be here as an MBBS 2016 student. A batch of 250 students guarantees you will find someone to your liking - partygoers, book worms, deep learners or poets - you have every spice and garnish in this dish. The infrastructure is beyond Compare (especially the modern teaching block with its plush seats and auditorium like setting of every classroom) - the grandeur of Awadh Architecture reflects in every nook and cranny. Everytime I step inside my college, there is a sense of awe at seeing the capitol hill like view of its domes and minarets, as if built for a king. KGMU has an extra ordinary emphasis on clinical work and receives the greatest patient load in UP. Rest assured, you will develop a great clinical sense here. The faculty, LIKE ALL MEDICAL COLLEGES, is a spectrum. I am in first year and can only speak for the same. There are some wonderful teachers in anatomy while professors in Physiology and biochemistry make learning a pleasure. Being in Lucknow, I love to soak in the non vegetarian cuisine of Nawabi Awadh - with its tikkas, biryanis, kebabs like none other. Of course, the proximity of historical landmarks like Bara Imambara to the college are a wonderful thing as well. There is a great sense of camaraderie in KGMU, with the community members being called Georgians. I have found great seniors here. However, there is huge amount of politics here, being a UP college, but that has little to do with a UG student. For students interested in Undergraduate research, one finds a lot of mentors here, willing to guide. Moreover, there is a strong focus on academics, with regular and comprehensive tests, weekly stage vivas, monthly part vivas, half yearly terminals, surprise exams- all of which are graded rigorously. Overall, it is a fantastic college to be in, what with being the 5th ranked nationally
