College of Teacher Education, Tura, is one of the prestigious teacher training colleges in Meghalaya that serves as the gateway for quality teacher education across various courses. Situated at Rongkhon, this institution is affiliated with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), where a teacher's preparation is complete. Admission in the College of Teacher Education, Tura, may, in common parlance, be referred to as a sifting through some of the best possible candidates for admission to the Bachelors of Education (B.Ed) program. Application Process:

With regard to this, the following steps have to be taken by the applicants for admission into the B.Ed. course at the College of Teacher Education, Tura:

1. CUET-UG Registration: Candidates needed to register and be present for the CUET-UG examination organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA). 

2. College Application: Eligible applicants must access the application form once the results for CUET-UG are declared and go to the official website of the College of Teacher Education, Tura.

3. Form Filling: Fill the application form correctly with personal, academic, and CUET-UG information ensuring to complete all required fields correctly. 

4. Document Upload: Scan all relevant documents as specified under the guidelines of application and upload them accordingly. This may include:

• Passport size photograph
• CUET-UG score card
• 10th and 12th mark sheets
• Bachelor's degree certificate and mark sheets
• Category certificate (if applicable)
• Any other documents as demanded by the college

5. Application Fee Payment: Application fees to be paid through prescribed ways.

6. Submission: Checking the information and uploaded documents before submitting the application.

7. Merit List: The college shall prepare and publish merit list based on CUET-UG scores and as per other conditions outlined in its admission policy. 

8. Counseling and Admission: Shortlisted candidates have to turn up for counseling proceedings during which the original documents will be validated and the admission fees will be paid to finalize the whole process.

9. Orientation: Admitted students will be informed about the commencement of classes and orientation.

Admission Procedure Degree-wise

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): It is the major course run by the college and is a full-time, two-year program B.Ed. All the details regarding the admission procedure for this program are:

1. Eligibility: The candidate must possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university; the subject requirements and minimum percentage eligibility should be checked from the college.
2. Entrance examination: Admission will be on the basis of CUET-UG score. The candidate is therefore expected to take this national examination and pass it.
3. Merit selection: The last selection is based on merit derived from the marks scored from the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination (CUET-UG).
4. Seat Distribution: Accepting an admission of 50 students per annum, allotment would be made according to the ranked merit list available to students.
5. Other Criteria: The college can also include other means of selection as prescribed by the Government of India/UT Administration or the affiliating University.
