The College/team of Teacher Education, Tura was established in 1993 and is affiliated college found in Rongkhon, Meghalaya. This institution affiliated to the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) is a centre for offering teacher education programmes only. Located on a campus of 14.9 acres, the college today boasts a strength of 98 students and has 8 faculties in its premises. The College of Teacher Education, Tura offers one degree programme, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) which only has a two year full time programme. Since, it is a teacher training college its plays an important role in preparing the future workforce of teachers for the region.

The College of Teacher Education, Tura has made provision of learning facilities easily available in order to meet the needs of the students. The college provides a good library which provides the students with education resources and literature of their choice. For technical skills, practical learning at the institution has got departmental based laboratories whereby students practice what they are taught in their areas of specialty. In terms of academic programmes, the College of Teacher Education, Tura strictly deals only with its B.Ed programme.
