Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Engineering and Technology, Pauri Garhwal was established in 1989. The institute was formerly known as G.B. Pant Engineering College. The total number of faculty members there at the institute is 120. The mission of the institute is to provide quality manpower that is imbued with human and societal values. G.B. Pant Institute of Engineering and Technology provides undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes related to various disciplines. The college also provides various academic and infrastructural facilities to the students, faculty and staff members. 

GBPEC Pauri Garhwal is a fully residential institution that provides degree programmes in the disciplines of Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML), Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Civil Engineering. The institute also offers a master's degree programme in Computer applications and M.Tech programmes in Digital Signal Processing, Production Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Biotechnology. From 2013-2014, the institute started offering doctoral programmes.

Photography Club- The Photography Club seeks to help students improve their photography skills. Members of this club explore new techniques and learn about new software and applications linked to photography in order to obtain a better understanding of the subject.

National Service Scheme (NSS)- The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a youth programme run by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Students from the institute have also participated in various programmes under this scheme, such as international yoga day, blood donation, leprosy campaign, Swachh Bharat, literary campaign, mass cleaning, mass tree plantation, road traffic awareness, sand sculpturing, polio vaccine, disaster management, PFMS training, and so on, in order to raise awareness.

GBPEC Pauri Garhwal Admissions

Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Engineering and Technology, Pauri Garhwal provides undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes including B.Tech, M.Tech, M.C.A and Ph.D. The admission to B.Tech programmes except B.Tech Biotechnology is done on the basis of JEE Main scores and to B.Tech Biotechnology admission will be based on GBPIET CEE conducted by G.B Pant Institute of Engineering and Technology.  GBPEC Pauri Garhwal admissions to M.Tech programmes based on GATE scores and admission to M.C.A programme is done based on UTUEE scores.
