Rabindra Nath Tagore Government College, Sarkaghat is affiliated with H.P. University, Shimla, and runs undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Rabindra Nath Tagore Government College admission procedure follows a merit base for almost all its programs, and course wise procedures differ from one another. Most undergraduate programmes can be considered 100% merit based and offer admission completely and solely on the basis of the qualifying performance of applicants.
Admission for postgraduate programs like MA Political Science and MA Economics takes place through a common entrance test, which is conducted by Himachal Pradesh University. The goal here is to select the most-qualified students for admission into the advanced programs. July-August is generally the beginning of a new academic year along with an admission process that begins a few months in advance.
Application Process
The application process for Rabindra Nath Tagore Government College, Sarkaghat comprises the following steps:

6. Counselling and Allocation of Seats: Shortlisted candidates may be called for a counselling session in which interested candidates shall have seats allocated based on availability on merit.

Degree wise Admission Process
BA Programs: The college has a large number of disciplines in BA, for example: Economics, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Journalism and Mass Communication, Mathematics, Music, Political Science, Public Administration, Sanskrit, and Tourism. Admission to these programs is purely by merit depending on the marks secured in the 10+2 exams. Each BA program will have approximately 80-140 seats, depending on the subject
B.Sc. Programmes: Such B.Sc. subjects are Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Maths, Physics and Zoology. Each program admits 80 to 140 students through merit-based admissions. Students should take the subjects related to the program in 10+2 examinations.
B.Com: Intake is 140 seats for B.Com. Admission is based on merit obtained in the qualifying examination and affinity to students who studied Commerce or related courses at their 10+2.
BCA and BBA (Self finance): Advertised intake for these courses is 60 and 40 seats respectively. The qualifications, and in some cases aptitude tests or interviews, can recruit students.
B.Voc Programs: The college offers B.Voc in Hospitality and Tourism and Retail Management, each of them has 40 seats. Admissions are merit-based and may consider any relevant skills or experience in the field.
M.A. Programs: M.A. in Economics and Political Science (for 20 seats each) are based on a centralized entrance test conducted by H.P. University, followed by the preparation of a merit list.
M.Sc. Programs: Physics and Chemistry M.Sc. are at a proportion of maximum 30 seats each. Probably, students will get admission through both the entrance test marks and the aggregate academic performance at the different relevant bachelor's levels.
PGDCA (Self Finance): This diploma at the PG level has sixty seats and is merit-based in the qualifying degree, possibly at a later stage through a college-level entrance test.
If we talk about academics I studied BSc there and the quality of teaching was very good the teacher was helping in nature curriculum was not that much updated but somehow it is good but we need to study masters for the good job
