Saint Mary's Syrian College, Udupi Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has a Women’s Hostel. The facility was introduced to the girls to provide accommodation to those female students who come from far places. It has been an asset to the college, and we have at present 16 inmates. Mrs.Sunitha Amin, Dept. of Commerce and Business Management, is the Hostel Warden. An eight-station Ladies’ Gym has been installed on the first floor of the hostel,l and a 20 KV Generator and a 32” Television have also been installed, all with the help of UGC grants.

The college has a Separate Ladies' GYM installed in the Women's Hostel, which can be used by Day Scholars as well as Hostel inmates

The College library is a part of any academic institution. Our library started functioning in the year 1980. The Library facility is extended to both students and staff members. Outsiders are also allowed for references. Initially, the library was managed with the help of lecturers & assisted by the office staff. In the year 1983, the college management appointed a qualified librarian & the library assistant was appointed in the year 1986.

The college has sports facilities for all students.

The college has 67 computers. nets licensed software was installed in 30 computers for UGC sponsored network course LAN facility is given in lab.

The College Food Canteen has been providing subsidized /Free homely food to more than 500 students every working day from Monday to Friday. Food is not outsourced but prepared every day by two cooks for the last 11 years. Food is served to all the students who are taking food in the Food Court by a team of 18 student Volunteers drawn from different classes. Senior Cook, Mr.Mahabaleshwar Thunga, has completed 11 years of service, while his younger brother,r who is also a Cook, Mr.Harikrishna Thunga,ga has been serving for 10 years. There is a committee of teachers for managing the Food Canteen. Prof. G. Balakrishna Shetty, Dept of Commerce and Business Mgt., is the Co-ordinator of this committee. A separate dining hall for girls has been constructed with the help of a generous donation of Rs. 8 Lakhs given by Mr.Robert Sequeira, an Old Student of C.H.P. School and S.M.S.High School who is now based in Dubai.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The College's first aid kit is available in the office and the physical education department.  A medical checkup is done for all the students. Health and hygienic awareness programs are conducted. A counselor is appointed, a doctor,r and an ambulance facility on call.

The college has bank/ATM facilities for all students.

The college has Extracurricular facilities for all students.

The College hostel offers a total of 6 well-furnished rooms, ensuring that students have comfortable and convenient living spaces during their stay." Each of the 6 rooms is equipped with essential amenities, including beds, study desks, storage facilities, and comfortable seating, creating an ideal environment for both studying and relaxation. The hostel's design and facilities promote a conducive atmosphere for academic focus and personal growth.
