Shri Shivaji Shikshan Prasarak Mandal's College of Education, Barshi, falls among the elite educational institutions today offering several graduate and postgraduate professional education programs, along with physical education programs. The college also enjoys National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) approval, which enables it to proceed through a merit-based admission selection process as organized by the state government as well as by the universities. The institution believes in an all-around approach in education and offers four full-time programs having a total intake of 280 seats for all courses. Normally, the admission processes at this college run in tandem with the academic calendar of the Maharashtra state universities.
Admission qualifications for entry into the college for any of its programs follow the guidelines established by the state government and the relevant university to which the institution is affiliated. In the B.Ed and M.Ed programs, admission may be granted on the basis of scores in the qualifying examination or in the entrance test if it is held. Selection based on other criteria applies at the college level for the B.P.Ed and M.P.Ed programs. Admission into its own programs is made through the state-level or university-level entrance tests. Students are advised to prepare and practice for these entrance examinations based on the syllabus and previous years' question papers.
