Solapur University Facilities

Solapur University Admissions

Admissions to various postgraduate programmes are offered by the university. The university offers a total of 23 postgraduate courses. Solapur University admissions to these courses are based on merit. For M.A., M.Sc., M.Com and M.C.A. programmes, candidates have to appear for the entrance test and the merit is decided by the scores obtained by the candidates in the entrance exam and qualifying exam. The entrance exam is conducted by the university. For Solapur University admission to the M.B.A programme, candidates are selected on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying exam and marks of MAH MBA CET/GMAT/CAT/MAT/ATMA/XAT/CMAT. Solapur University Scholarships

The scholarships are provided with the aim of helping the financially-constrained students in pursuing their dream careers. The university does not provide its own scholarships. Students aspiring for Solapur University scholarships can apply for central government scholarships or scholarships offered by the UGC. To avail the scholarships, candidates have to meet the scholarship eligibility criteria. After meeting the eligibility criteria, candidates are entitled to the scholarship amount.

1. Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for SC/ST candidates- This scholarship is provided by the UGC. To avail this scholarship, candidates should have passed the postgraduate examination and should belong to SC/ST category. Candidates should be pursuing M.Phil/Ph.D. The scholarship amount awarded under this scheme is as follows. For fellowship in science, humanities and social science, Rs 12,000 per month for the initial two years and Rs 14,000 per month for remaining tenure is awarded. For fellowship in engineering and technology, Rs 14,000 per month for the initial two years and Rs 15,000 per month for remaining tenure is awarded.

2. Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child- Under this scheme, the girl student should be pursuing a full-time regular master’s degree and age should not exceed 30 years. Rs 2,000 per month is the scholarship amount awarded.

3. Post Graduate Merit Scholarship Scheme for University Rank Holders at Undergraduate level- Candidates should be first and second rank holders at UG level and first rank holders for honors students with a minimum of 60% marks and should be pursuing regular full-time master’s degree. Age should not exceed 30 years. Rs 2,000 per month is awarded under this scheme.

Solapur University Placement

The placement cell of the university helps in the placement of the final year students. The placement cell also conducts various activities like industrial visits, guest lectures, workshops, etc. Solapur University placement training like group discussions and mock interviews are also conducted by the university placement cell. The placement cell invites companies like Infosys, DHFL, Axis Bank to name a few to its campus for placement. Solapur University placement results are declared by the cell after the successful selection of the candidates.
