      Kapila Khandvala College of Education, Mumbai, founded in the year 1962, is a prestigious institution for teacher education. The two anchor programs offered in the college are 2 years B.Ed. and 6 years Ph.D. in Education. The college is also accredited by NAAC and recognized by the NCTE.       B.Ed.: The 2-year full-time Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program of Smt. Kapila Khandvala College prepares students for teaching at the secondary and higher secondary levels. Admission to B.Ed. is done centrally and all 50 seats are filled by this method, including those reserved for Gujarati linguistic minority students. A candidate who applies for the B.Ed. program has to have completed a bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized university.

      Ph.D. in Education: Ph.D. in Education involves 6 advanced years of research in education. The college offers a maximum of 24 seats for this program. Generally, someone who wants to apply for Ph.D. admission should have qualified with a master degree in education or any other related field. For Ph.D. admission, a student might be asked to submit a research proposal and take an entrance test and/or undergo an interview, as often required by doctoral programs.
