Smt. Kapila Khandvala College of Education is the educational college in Mumbai, established in 1962. It falls under the category of a co-educational institute that emphasises co-ed education. The institute holds accreditation from NAAC and approval from the NCTE. Being an affiliated college, it specialises in two programmes: a 2-year B.Ed. and a 6-year Ph.D. in Education. The college has an area of 3.099 acres under its small campus with a students' population of 111 in number and is led by 7 dedicated faculty members. Simultaneously, the PhD programme for 24 students targets advanced research education. Both courses take an exhaustive full-time approach for intensive training. The total number of intakes from the college in all courses is 111, thereby showing an approach by the institution to ensure there's a healthy student-teacher ratio. The admissions to Smt. Kapila Khandvala College of Education are centralised. All B.Ed. admissions are made under an affirmative action plan. Because it is a linguistic minority institution, it has reserved 50% of its seats for Gujarati linguistic minority students. But all of them come into college through the process of centralised admission. The college is co-educational and diversity comes in the form of gender.
