KLE Technological University Hubballi was established in 1947 and was previously known as B. V. Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology (BVB). The university was established by the KLE Society, Belgaum. The university is recognised by UGC, approved by AICTE  and accredited by NBA and NAAC with an A grade.
