KUK Kurukshetra: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Students are offered admission at Kurukshetra University at three different levels: undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral. The university offers a total of 127 courses for Kurukshetra University admissions. KUK admissions are offered in branches like general management, computer applications, information technology, computer science engineering, electronics and communication engineering, civil engineering, etc. Admission to some courses at KUK is offered based on the merit of the qualifying examination while for some courses, the university conducts an entrance examination. 

Students who want to take admission in B.Tech at Kurukshetra University must note that the admissions are offered based on JEE Main formerly known as All Indian Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) scores made by the Haryana State Technical Education Society. For B.P.Ed. admissions, students need to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) conducted by the respective department of the university. Admission to diploma courses such as PG Diploma in Floriculture, PG Diploma in Yoga, PG Diploma in Women’s Studies, Diploma in Mgt. of Developmental & Welfare Services, Diploma/Certificate courses are offered based on the merit of the qualifying examination. Admission to B.Pharma is through a centralised entrance test through HSCS. Admission to M.F.A and B.F.A is offered on the basis of merit.

Kurukshetra University Admissions to postgraduate courses - M.A., M.Sc, M.P.Ed, L.L.M, M.Com, M.C.A, M.S.W and M.B.A are offered based on the students’ performance in the entrance examination conducted by the university followed by counselling. For M.B.A, students need to appear for CAT followed by group discussion and personal interview. Admission to M.C.A, B.Tech. and B.Pharmacy courses will be made by the Haryana State Counselling Society, Panchkula. Students must know that compartments in the qualifying examination will not be offered Kurukshetra University admissions to postgraduate courses. For M.Tech admissions, candidates must qualify for GATE therefore, students who have not appeared for GATE must sit for the entrance test conducted by the university.  

Admission to M.Pharma at Kurukshetra University is offered based on the entrance examination scores and merit in the qualifying degree (B.Pharma). The university follows the following criteria for preparing the merit list for courses such as M.A., M.Com, L.L.M, M.Sc..- marks obtained in the entrance test (50% marks), marks obtained in the qualifying examination (50% marks). For M.P.Ed. and B.P.Ed admissions, after qualifying the PET, admissions shall be made based on the merit of the qualifying examination.

Kurukshetra University Admissions - Application Process

• Candidates are requested to read the admission prospectus available on the official website of Kurukshetra University- www.Kuk.ac.in.  The admission prospectus contains the eligibility criteria for admission to various courses.

• Candidates have to apply online by visiting the Kurukshetra University website or admission portal. 

• Candidates need to fill the online Kurukshetra University application form. It is advisable for candidates to first check the eligibility criteria and then fill the form.

• All the particulars in the Kurukshetra University application form should be filled properly, an unfilled application form have a higher chance of getting rejected by the authorities.

• Candidates must keep the following things ready before filling the Kurukshetra University application form: all qualification details, Scanned clear passport photograph in JPG/JPEG format (size between 10 kb–200 kb), Scanned clear signature in JPG/JPEG format (size between 4 kb–50 kb), Scanned copy of Matric Certificate (in .jpg file of size not more than 50 KB). • A valid e-mail Id, a valid mobile number as all information via SMS will be sent to this number, A valid debit/credit card or Net banking account for paying online.

• Provide a valid email id as the verification link will be sent to the given email address.

• Candidates should log in through the provided email id and create a password for completing the application process.

Kurukshetra University Admissions - UG Courses

The university offers 18 courses at the undergraduate level. Kurukshetra University UG courses are L.L.B, B.F.A, B.Tech, B.Sc., B.P.Ed, B.Pharma etc. Admission to some courses such as B.F.A, B.A. is offered based on the merit in the qualifying examination whereas, for some courses such as B.Sc., B.H.M.C.T are offered based on the entrance test conducted by the university. Students who wish to take admission in B.P.Ed. must appear for PET and then the merit list will be prepared on the basis of the merit of the qualifying exam. B.Tech admissions are offered based on JEE Main scores.

• Candidates need to appear for an entrance test conducted by the university for Kurukshetra University UG admissions.

• It must be noted that for B.A. and B.F.A, admission is offered based on the merit of the qualifying examination.

• The Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) will conduct the Haryana B.Tech counselling and seat allotment process.

• Authorities will release the merit list/rank list.

• Candidates need to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) conducted by the university.

• For students who will qualify for PET, admissions shall be made based on the merit of the qualifying examination. Therefore, appearing and qualifying the PET is a mandatory requirement for Kurukshetra University B.P.Ed. and M.P.Ed. admissions.

Kurukshetra University Admissions - PG Courses

A total of 104 courses are offered at KUK for Kurukshetra University PG admissions. Some of which are M.Com, L.L.M, M.Sc., M.A., M.Tech etc. Admissions to some courses such as M.A., M.Com, M.PEd., L.L.M are offered based on the performance of candidates in the entrance examination followed by centralised counselling conducted by the Kurukshetra University. Admission to M.Tech is offered based on GATE scores. There is also a separate entrance test for students who want to take admission in M.Tech but haven’t appeared for GATE. For M.B.A admissions, candidates are required to sit for the Common Admission Test (CAT). M.P.Ed. admissions are offered based on the performance of candidates in PET.

• For Non- GATE qualified students, the university conducts an entrance test for offering admission in M.Tech at Kurukshetra University.
