    About KUK Kurukshetra

    The university was established in 1956 by Dr Rajendra Prasad. Kurukshetra University offers various courses on the campus in its 46 departments/institutions. There are more than 200 colleges affiliated with Kurukshetra University. The university is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a grade of ‘A+’.  The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), MHRD has ranked Kurukshetra University 99th in the university’s category 2020.  The university has collaborated with various other universities/institutions such as the State University of New York, the University of Rajasthan, University of Delhi. The university campus is spread over 423 acres of land offering various infrastructural facilities to its students. Kurukshetra University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university has eleven faculties namely the Faculty of Arts and Languages, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Life Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Indic Studies, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Commerce and Management, Faculty of Distance Education and Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

    Kurukshetra University located at Thanesar, Haryana. The nearest railway station is Thanesar City Railway Station at a distance of 2.1 km and students can take a bus from Kurukshetra Bus Stand which is at a distance of 19.7 km away from the university. Patiala Airport is the nearest airport at a distance of 76.5 km and it will take around 1 hour 40 minutes to reach Kurukshetra University.

    Kurukshetra University Infrastructure and Facilities

    Established in 1957, the JLN library is located at a central place of departments of Kurukshetra University. The library has three blocks namely Ranganathan Block, Ram Prasad Bismil Golden Jubilee Reading Hall and Savitri Bai Phule Block having the capacity of accompanying more than 1700 students. The building of the library is fully air-conditioned and the reading hall is open from 9:00 am to 12:00 midnight on all days except the government holidays. Kurukshetra University has smart classrooms so that students can understand the concepts easily. All the classroom are fully air-conditioned and has modern amenities. KUK facilities include a library, separate hostels for boys and girls with all the required facilities, ATM facility, transportation facilities, guest house, auditorium etc. In total, the university has 25 hostels out of which 11 are boys and 13 are for girls. These hostels offer all the necessary facilities and a comfortable atmosphere for the students to have a home-like accommodation away from their families.

    Kurukshetra University Courses 

    Candidates are offered a total of 127 courses at UG, PG and doctoral levels at Kurukshetra University. These courses are offered in the areas such as humanities and social sciences, commerce, management and business administration etc. At the undergraduate level, the university offers 18 courses such as B.Pharma, L.L.B, B.Sc. etc. A total of 104 postgraduate programmes are offered such as M.Pharma, M.B.A, M.Sc., M.Tech to name a few.

    B.Pharma

    Students must have passed class 12th examination and studied physics and chemistry as main subjects and along with any of the following subjects: Mathematics and Biology from a recognised board.

    L.L.B 

    Students must have passed graduation from a recognised university with 45% aggregate marks.

    B.PEd. 

    Students must have passed B.A./B.Sc/B.Com with at least 45% marks in aggregate (40% marks for SC/ST) and having passed English as one of the subjects, except for B.Sc and B.Com from a recognised university.

    OR

    B.A. with Health & Physical Education as one of the subjects in the three-year degree course with at least 50%  aggregate marks.

    OR

    Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) /B.Sc(Physical Education, Health Education & Sports) with at least 50% aggregate marks

    B.Tech

    M.Tech

    Kurukshetra University Admissions

    The university offers admissions at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. Some of the courses offered for Kurukshetra University admissions are B.PEd., B.Sc., B.Pharma, M.B.AM.Sc., M.Tech, M.Phil etc. There is a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) conducted by the university for B.PEd. and M.PEd. admissions.     Courses offered by KUK Kurukshetra

    Students are offered admission at Kurukshetra University at three different levels: undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral. The university offers a total of 127 courses for Kurukshetra University admissions. KUK admissions are offered in branches like general management, computer applications, information technology, computer science engineering, electronics and communication engineering, civil engineering, etc. Admission to some courses at KUK is offered based on the merit of the qualifying examination while for some courses, the university conducts an entrance examination. 

    Students who want to take admission in B.Tech at Kurukshetra University must note that the admissions are offered based on JEE Main formerly known as All Indian Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) scores made by the Haryana State Technical Education Society. For B.P.Ed. admissions, students need to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) conducted by the respective department of the university. Admission to diploma courses such as PG Diploma in Floriculture, PG Diploma in Yoga, PG Diploma in Women’s Studies, Diploma in Mgt. of Developmental & Welfare Services, Diploma/Certificate courses are offered based on the merit of the qualifying examination. Admission to B.Pharma is through a centralised entrance test through HSCS. Admission to M.F.A and B.F.A is offered on the basis of merit.

    Kurukshetra University Admissions to postgraduate courses - M.A., M.Sc, M.P.Ed, L.L.M, M.ComM.C.A, M.S.W and M.B.A are offered based on the students’ performance in the entrance examination conducted by the university followed by counselling. For M.B.A, students need to appear for CAT followed by group discussion and personal interview. Admission to M.C.A, B.Tech. and B.Pharmacy courses will be made by the Haryana State Counselling Society, Panchkula. Students must know that compartments in the qualifying examination will not be offered Kurukshetra University admissions to postgraduate courses. For M.Tech admissions, candidates must qualify for GATE therefore, students who have not appeared for GATE must sit for the entrance test conducted by the university.  

    Admission to M.Pharma at Kurukshetra University is offered based on the entrance examination scores and merit in the qualifying degree (B.Pharma). The university follows the following criteria for preparing the merit list for courses such as M.A., M.Com, L.L.MM.Sc..- marks obtained in the entrance test (50% marks), marks obtained in the qualifying examination (50% marks). For M.P.Ed. and B.P.Ed admissions, after qualifying the PET, admissions shall be made based on the merit of the qualifying examination.

    Kurukshetra University Admissions - UG Courses

    The university offers 18 courses at the undergraduate level. Kurukshetra University UG courses are L.L.B, B.F.A, B.Tech, B.Sc., B.P.Ed, B.Pharma etc. Admission to some courses such as B.F.A, B.A. is offered based on the merit in the qualifying examination whereas, for some courses such as B.Sc., B.H.M.C.T are offered based on the entrance test conducted by the university.     Kurukshetra University Admission Process for B.P.Ed. and M.P.Ed.

    • Candidates who are willing to take admission in B.P.Ed. and M.P.Ed. programmes offered at UG and PG levels must meet the course requirements.

    • After meeting the eligibility criteria, candidates must apply for the programme by filling the application form.

    • Candidates need to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) conducted by the university.

    • For students who will qualify for PET, admissions shall be made based on the merit of the qualifying examination. Therefore, appearing and qualifying the PET is a mandatory requirement for Kurukshetra University B.P.Ed. and M.P.Ed. admissions.

    • Students must verify their documents and remit the fees for final admissions.

    Kurukshetra University Admissions - PG Courses

    A total of 104 courses are offered at KUK for Kurukshetra University PG admissions. Some of which are M.Com, L.L.M, M.Sc., M.A., M.Tech etc. Admissions to some courses such as M.A., M.Com, M.PEd., L.L.M are offered based on the performance of candidates in the entrance examination followed by centralised counselling conducted by the Kurukshetra University. Admission to M.Tech is offered based on GATE scores. There is also a separate entrance test for students who want to take admission in M.Tech but haven’t appeared for GATE.     KUK Kurukshetra Admission

    Students are offered admission at Kurukshetra University at three different levels: undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral. The university offers a total of 127 courses for Kurukshetra University admissions. KUK admissions are offered in branches like general management, computer applications, information technology, computer science engineering, electronics and communication engineering, civil engineering, etc. Admission to some courses at KUK is offered based on the merit of the qualifying examination while for some courses, the university conducts an entrance examination. 

    Students who want to take admission in B.Tech at Kurukshetra University must note that the admissions are offered based on JEE Main formerly known as All Indian Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) scores made by the Haryana State Technical Education Society. For B.P.Ed. admissions, students need to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) conducted by the respective department of the university. Admission to diploma courses such as PG Diploma in Floriculture, PG Diploma in Yoga, PG Diploma in Women’s Studies, Diploma in Mgt. of Developmental & Welfare Services, Diploma/Certificate courses are offered based on the merit of the qualifying examination. Admission to B.Pharma is through a centralised entrance test through HSCS. Admission to M.F.A and B.F.A is offered on the basis of merit.

    Kurukshetra University Admissions to postgraduate courses - M.A., M.Sc, M.P.Ed, L.L.M, M.ComM.C.A, M.S.W and M.B.A are offered based on the students’ performance in the entrance examination conducted by the university followed by counselling. For M.B.A, students need to appear for CAT followed by group discussion and personal interview. Admission to M.C.A, B.Tech. and B.Pharmacy courses will be made by the Haryana State Counselling Society, Panchkula. Students must know that compartments in the qualifying examination will not be offered Kurukshetra University admissions to postgraduate courses.     Kurukshetra University has a sprawling campus spread over 473 acres. Beautiful well maintained lush green parks and vehicle parking. It has a Huge Library ( Jawaharlal Nehru Library) There are 8 reading areas with a reading capacity of 1270 readers.University has presently 11 hostels for men. All the University hostels are under the supervision of the Chief Wardens. All the hostels are well equipped with all modern facilities i.e. 24 hours water supply, Electricity, Separate mess, T.V facility.
