Handia Post Graduate College, Allahabad, imparts a broad spectrum of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a whole range of subjects. The process of Handia Post Graduate College admission aims at selecting the deserving candidates through a merit-based system and follows a predetermined procedure laid down for different courses.
The period of admission is primarily from July to August for the coming academic session. In general terms, the procedure differs from course to course; nevertheless, for the majority of undergrad and postgrad programmes in Arts, Commerce, and Sciences, admissions through merit are strictly considered based on scores obtained in qualifying examinations. However, in professional courses like B.Ed and M.Ed, different admission methods are followed.
Admission in Handia Post Graduate College to the B.Ed is based on state-level entrance tests, within the frame of policies stipulated by the state government. Admission for the M.Ed course is based on merit lists generated by the University. The D.El.Ed, likewise, adopts a merit-based admission procedure on the basis of prospective examination and/or any entrance examination as per the state government rules.

The B.Ed course at Handia Post Graduate College allows an intake of 100 students. Admissions are strictly on the grounds of merit determined by the mark scored in the qualifying examination and/or marks scored in the entrance examination. The selection policy stands with the State Government/U.T. Administration and the University.
The M.Ed programme admits 20 students based on merit as well as University guidelines. The admission will depend upon the performance of the candidate in the qualifying examination.
D.El.Ed programme has an approved intake of 50 students. Handia Post Graduate College admissions are made on merit, based upon marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or marks secured in the entrance examination, as per the policy of the state government.
Handia Post Graduate College admission to the BA Programme will also be done on a merit basis, considering the marks scored in the qualifying examination.
The college offers MA programmes in Hindi, Political Science, Sociology, Sanskrit, History, Psychology, Economics, and Education. The admission procedure for all these programs is merit-based; admission is given based on the performance of the candidate in the qualifying examination.
Admission to the B.Com and M.Com programmes is based on merit, focusing on qualifying examination results.
Admission for the B.Sc and M.Sc programmes, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels alike, is merit-based. Admission for the M.Sc. in Chemistry will be merit-based and University-based.
For the Bachelor of Physical Education programme, Handia Post Graduate College admission is done based on merit and as per the University guidelines.
