Kumaun University, Nainital was established in the year 1973 by notification No. (10)/8651/15/75(85)/64 dated 23 November 1973 under the Act No. 10 of State Legislature. The university was the result of the merger of two Government Colleges, D.S.B. Government P.G.College, Nainital and Almora Government P.G. College, Almora. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi under section 12-B of the UGC Act, 1956. DSB Campus, Nainital, SSJ Campus, Almora and Sir JC Bose Technical Campus, Bhimtal are the campuses of the varsity. Kumaun University offers a variety of courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level.
Kumaun University is located at the Sleepy Hollow, Nainital - Kaladungi Road, Ayarpatta, Nainital in Uttarakhand. Kathgodam Railway Station is around 37 km away from the varsity. Pantnagar Airport is around 72 km away from the university. Tallital Bus Station is approximately 3 km away from Kumaun University. Kumaun University Admission
Kumaun University offers a variety of courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level. As per the Kumaun University admission process, admission to all the UG and PG programmes except for MEd/BEd/LLM/LLB and MBA admission is based on the merit of the qualifying examination that is the marks of class 12 will be considered for admission to UG admission and for Kumaun University PG admission will be on the basis of marks secured in the graduation. For MEd/BEd/LLM/LLB programmes candidates have to qualify an entrance examination conducted by the university for the respective programmes. Kumaun University MBA admission is based on the marks secured in the entrance exam conducted by the university/MAT/CAT/CMAT, performance in the GD and interview. PhD admission is based on the marks obtained in RDET, performance in the interview. I passed bsc 1st year from kumaun University Nainital then can i apply for BSC 2nd year from open University now?
Yes. Obviously you can take admission in 2nd year in other college. This process is called lateral entry. Yes you can ,its named as lateral entry but after diploma & if you study 1st year from a college and want to change the college to 2nd year its also possible but with no backlogs.
Transfer from college to college or university to university is possible. The procedure for transfer is - Transfer from one College to another : -(1)A student desirous of transfer from one College to another shall apply to the Registrar in the prescribed manner for permission for such transfer .
