Government College, Kolayat Admission Process

Government College, Kolayat, a very young government establishment in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan, started its educational activities. The simple admission process of the college is primarily based on the academic performance of the candidates. As a government institution, it follows the admission process of government institutions and procedures of the State Government colleges of Rajasthan. The institute provides a total of four courses divided into a total of three degree programmes that can serve different needs and objectives of learners.  The admission schedule is usually held in alignment with the academic calendar of the state universities of Rajasthan, and the process of submission of forms generally initiates in the months following the announcement of the 12th results.

Candidates will be eligible to apply for admission into undergraduate programmes if they have secured at least a pass in their 10+2 from a recognized board. For Under-graduating admissions, admission will be granted to the student based on the qualifying examination (12th standard) marks. For admission to the postgraduate programs, at least a bachelor's degree in the relevant subject is required.

Application Process

Government College, Kolayat will apply a very simple and straightforward methodology in terms of the application process. Below is an easy step-by-step guide for the applicants:

1. For the latest admission notice-cum-information, check either the college website or the Rajasthan Higher Education portal.

2. Reading the admission prospectus downloaded and containing all the detailed information about courses, eligibility criteria, and required documents.

3. Filling out the application form correctly. Depending on the current system in place by the college, this form can either be online or related to physical form.

4. Attach all documents required, which present:

  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets
  • Transfer Certificate from the previous institution
  • Character Certificate
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Recent passport-size photographs

5. Pay the application fee as specified by the college. The amount of the fee and payment method will be determined in the admission notification.

6. Submit the fully completed application form that is accompanied by all necessary documents within the stipulated deadline. Be sure to keep a copy of the submitted application.

7. The college will screen through all applications submitted and then produce a merit list based on the academic performance of the candidates.

8. Check the college notice board or site for the discount list. If your name appears, you should visit the college for document verification and confirmation of admission within the time limit specified.

9. Admission fee payment, followed by other requirements, as per the college administration's instruction.

10. Orientation programmes enable students to acclimatise with college facilities, faculty, and academic laws and policies.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.A. : Government College, Kolayat has the largest intake of students into the Bachelor of Arts programme, allowing 160 students. Admission is based on the candidate's marks in the 12th standard examination. The college looks at aggregate score but may also consider marks in relevant subjects depending on the specialization of B.A. topics.

B.Sc.: The Bachelor of Science programme has 88 available seats in this college. Students are required to have cleared their 12th standard with science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology) from a recognised board. Admission is based on marks in these subjects and overall 12th standard examination percentage.

M.A. Hindi: Government College, Kolayat offers 40 seat intake for its Master of Arts Hindi programme. A bachelor degree in Hindi or cognate subject is necessary for eligibility. Admission is based on the marks of qualifying bachelor degree, which gives preference to those with proven Hindi literature backgrounds.

M.A. History: Like M.A. Hindi, this has 40 seats to be filled in M.A. History. The applicant must have completed their bachelor's degree with History as one of the subjects. The selection shall be based on marks obtained in a bachelor's degree with the most weightage on History subjects.
