The departments shall use additional criteria for scrutinizing the applications such as academic performance, ranking in respective national level tests like JGEEBILS / JAM / NBHM / JEST) etc. Therefore, the final selection of candidates is based on the students’ performance in the interview. Students must have passed a masters’ degree or equivalent with 60% marks to be eligible for IISER Pune Ph.D. admissions. Also, students must have qualified national level examinations such as CSIR-UGC NET/GATE/JEST/NBHM/JGEEBILS, etc depending on the candidate research interest. I am getting a Phd In Experimental High enery physics. For any subject it is important to have professors who are actively working on the subject. The scope of subjects here is pretty broad in general. Since the institute is autonomous, the professors have the liberty to tweak the course themselves, which usually works in the favour of the student.
Hello,
According to historical tendencies, you should.
This year, it will depend on how well students perform generally and the extent to which the increase in seats has an impact (this year, 75 percent of seats shall be filled via the SCB channel). That will ultimately determine which IISER you receive.
But in my opinion, with a score of 124, you should surely get admitted to IISER Pune.
Good Luck!!
Dear Aspirant,
It is quite hard to predict the exact situation as it depends on the number of students willing to take admission in the college and the seat matrix of the college.
There are 200 seats in Pune and about 20 are reserved for EWS candidates.
Going by this trend we can say that you have a good chance of getting into Pune campus in further rounds.
Keep in mind that Pune is one of the most preferred branches of IISER and hence is highly competitive so there might a lower chance of people dropping the seat in Pune.
So, please be prepared to go to IISER Kolkata as well.
Hope this helps.
Hi
To secure a seat in any of IISER, you must score 83-85 but the level of difficulty can be unpredictable. The questions keep on changing along with the pattern of the exam. Seeing the cut-off trends of the previous 3 years, a score above 105 will be enough to secure you a seat in 1st round itself.
