Punjab College of Law Tarn Taran is an affiliated college of Bar Council of India (BCI). The integrated law programmes offered by the institute have been devised to provide aspiring lawyers with an opportunity to pursue quality education. Punjab College of Law admission procedure aims at the selection of students who are determined and possess an excellent academic record for its two specialised courses, namely BA LLB and B.Com LLB. For admission into the integrated law programmes of Punjab College of Law, students should be qualified in the education of 10th and 12th classes from recognised boards.
The application procedure for Punjab College of Law is not well explicated, but judging the procedure based on universal law college admission practices would go as follows:
Both the programmes intend to impart an all-round education to students by combining either arts or commerce with legal studies. The total seat capacity of 120 students (60 for each programme) projects a very competitive selection process that ensures quality education.
The BA LLB programme of Punjab College of Law is a five-year integrated course comprising arts subjects and law. The college has 60 seats for this course. Punjab College of Law admission to the BA LLB course will most probably be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination (10+2) and possibly any entrance tests conducted or accepted by the college. The course provides a well-rounded education in all aspects of legal principles with an equally strong foundation in arts subjects.
Just like BA LLB, B.Com LLB is also a five-year integrated course combining commerce subjects with law. This programme equally has 60 seats. Punjab College of Law admission process for B.Com LLB would be similar to the BA LLB option but may put some import on the background in commerce or aptitude. The course will suit better the students with interest in corporate law, taxation, and legal aspects of business.
The minimum cutoff percentage of marks could be around 45-50% in the qualifying examination for general category students as per the norms of BCI, while there could be some relaxation for reserved categories.
