Khalsa College of Law, Amritsar, which was set up in 2012, is an affiliated college in Punjab, India. Among the many legal institutes that have set up shop in Amritsar is this one, located at Ram Tirath Road, next to Labh Nagar, and running for more than a decade now. The college is situated on a 5-acre campus, is self-financed and is approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The college of law has a total enrolment of 846 students and 24 faculty members, which creates a concentrated education experience.
Khalsa College of Law provides a quality learning environment for its learners. The college also has a well-ventilated, well-furnished moot court room with audio-visual facilities which enable the students to have a practical feel of the court proceedings and to help students inculcate the paramount virtue of advocacy. The library is a storehouse of legal information containing a large number of books, law journals, law reports and references. It now has fully automated systems with barcodes so that users can get resources easily. A good demonstration of this is the well-equipped internet lab with free internet access, with legal software such as SCC Online and digital copies of AIR and CrLJ accessible in the college.
There are three courses currently offered at the college, and all are in full-time mode. They are the three-year LL.B course, the five-year B.A LL.B Integrated programme and the five-year B.Com LL.B Integrated programme. The total intake approved in these courses is 300, while the BA LLB Integrated programme, being the most popular, has a capacity of 180 only. The faculty offers 60 seats for both the five-year LLB and B.Com LLB integrated degrees.
