Here is the list of documents needed for Travancore Engineering College admissions.
Yes Gaurav, you can go for B.Tech after ITI, but not directly. The usual route is through Diploma + Lateral Entry. After completing ITI, you are eligible to join a Diploma/Polytechnic course in the related branch. Once you finish the diploma, you can apply for lateral entry admission in B.Tech, which means you can start directly from the second year of engineering instead of the first year.
However, admission depends on a few things – the trade you completed in ITI, your marks/percentage, and the state or university rules. Some states conduct lateral entry exams (like LEET), and some colleges have their own criteria. So, first you need to check which diploma courses match your ITI trade, and then plan for lateral entry into B.Tech.
If you share your state and ITI trade, it will be easier to suggest the exact process and colleges for you.
There is no 11th B.Tech, if you want to enroll in B.Tech course, you must passed 12th Class from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics ( PCM ). Some colleges take entrance exam scores like JEE, KEAM or WBJEE. You can also apply directly on the college website for management quota.
Hey Gobinda! With 49.5% in Class 12 and being from the OBC category, you still have a chance for B.Tech (including Computer Science). Most colleges ask for around 50–60% for General, but for OBC there is usually some relaxation (around 45–50%). Since you are in that range, you can definitely try.
Just make sure you had PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Math) in Class 12, because that’s compulsory for B.Tech. Some universities admit on board marks, while others through entrance exams like JEE Main or state-level tests. Private universities are also an option if you don’t want to depend fully on entrance exams.
So yes, you are eligible, but it will depend on the college/university you apply to. Best option is to check their specific eligibility on the official website before applying.
