Hello,

Other than Computer Science, some of the best B.Tech courses are:

  1. Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) – Good for jobs in telecom, robotics, and hardware.

  2. Mechanical Engineering – Core branch with opportunities in manufacturing, design, and production.

  3. Civil Engineering – Best for construction, infrastructure, and government jobs.

  4. Electrical Engineering (EE) – In demand for power plants, energy, and automation fields.

  5. Information Technology (IT) – Similar to CSE but focuses more on software applications.

  6. Artificial Intelligence and Data Science – Fast-growing field with good future scope.

  7. Biotechnology – Great for research, pharma, and healthcare sectors.

  8. Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering – For those interested in aircraft and space technology.

Your choice should depend on your interests and career goals.

Hope it helps !

Yes Gaurav, you can go for B.Tech after ITI, but not directly. The usual route is through Diploma + Lateral Entry. After completing ITI, you are eligible to join a Diploma/Polytechnic course in the related branch. Once you finish the diploma, you can apply for lateral entry admission in B.Tech, which means you can start directly from the second year of engineering instead of the first year.

However, admission depends on a few things – the trade you completed in ITI, your marks/percentage, and the state or university rules. Some states conduct lateral entry exams (like LEET), and some colleges have their own criteria. So, first you need to check which diploma courses match your ITI trade, and then plan for lateral entry into B.Tech.

If you share your state and ITI trade, it will be easier to suggest the exact process and colleges for you.

There is no 11th B.Tech, if you want to enroll in B.Tech course, you must passed 12th Class from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics ( PCM ). Some colleges take entrance exam scores like JEE, KEAM or WBJEE. You can also apply directly on the college website for management quota.

Hey Gobinda! With 49.5% in Class 12 and being from the OBC category, you still have a chance for B.Tech (including Computer Science). Most colleges ask for around 50–60% for General, but for OBC there is usually some relaxation (around 45–50%). Since you are in that range, you can definitely try.

Just make sure you had PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Math) in Class 12, because that’s compulsory for B.Tech. Some universities admit on board marks, while others through entrance exams like JEE Main or state-level tests. Private universities are also an option if you don’t want to depend fully on entrance exams.

So yes, you are eligible, but it will depend on the college/university you apply to. Best option is to check their specific eligibility on the official website before applying.

Good afternoon here’s a breakdown of B.Tech Civil Engineering (Lateral Entry) fees across different colleges in India for 2025:

Fee Structure Comparison

Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth    Faridabad    3 years    85,000 – 1,00,000 per year

SVU School of Engineering    UP    3 years    42,500/semester

Manav Rachna International Institute    Haryana    3 years   1.2 -1.5 lakh per year

DTU (Delhi Technological University)    Delhi    3 years    2.68 lakh (1st year)

Notes

Government colleges typically charge 50,000 – 1.5 lakh total.

Private universities may offer flexible schedules but charge higher fees.

Some colleges offer installment plans or scholarships for lateral entry students.

Have a great Day !!!

With a 92 percentile and an overall rank of 80,000, you might find it challenging to get admission to top government colleges for B.Tech in Computer Science with a high package. However, you can still aim for some decent government colleges, especially those in states with lower cutoffs or management quota options. Look into colleges like NITs (depending on your category), State Engineering Colleges, or Private Institutes with good placements. Aim for strong performance in entrance exams and placements.

Hello,

Yes, Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) in Madurai offers management quota seats for B.Tech programs, including Information Technology. Applications for these seats are available online through the TCE website, typically two days after the publication of Class 12 results.

The management quota fee for engineering courses at TCE is approximately Rs. 5.80 lakhs. Please note that this fee structure is subject to change, so it's advisable to confirm the latest details with the college administration.

Hope it helps !
