Goswami Ganesh Dutt Sanatan Dharam College, Palampur Admission Process

Goswami Ganesh Dutt Sanatan Dharam College, Palampur (GGDSD College) is a constituent college of Himachal Pradesh in Rajpur, Kangra District, Himachal Pradesh. GGDSD College follows the admission norms governed by Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) for its various programs.

The admission process for GGDSD College is mostly merit-based and percentage based on their marks obtained from the final qualifying examination (10+2). The university provides various undergraduate programs in addition to a postgraduate diploma program (PGDCA) such as BA, B.Com, BCA, BBA, B.Sc. Medical, and B.Sc. Non-Medical.

Except for the most undergraduate programs including BA, B.Com, BCA, BBA which admit students based solely on merit, admissions to all undergraduate programs, including B.Sc Medical and Non-Medical, are awarded based on the merit percentage obtained in qualifying examination (10+2). This system ensures that only the most deserving candidates who have performed better academically at this level are selected.

Application Process

The following are the usually laid down activities in this line:

1. Declaration of Admissions: The college declares its admission program through the official web portal and other media channels.

2. Application Form: Purchase and fill out an application form. It may or may not be available online on the college website or at the college admission office.

3. Document Submission: Candidates must submit supporting documents along with the completed application form, predominantly consisting of:

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets
  • Character certificate
  • Transfer certificate if applicable
  • Caste certificate for reserved category students
  • Recent passport-sized photographs

4. Merit List Formulations: Forming out the merit by the college basing on the percentage of marks obtained in qualifying examination i.e. (10+2 for most undergraduate courses).

5. Publication of Merit List: Merit list published on notice board of college or website.

6. Document Verification: A document verification process called for shortlisted candidates, as original documents have to be checked against the copy submitted.

7. Fee Payment: After the successful verification process, the candidates are required to pay the admission fees within a stipulated timeframe.

8. Admission Confirmation: Payment confirms the admission, and the candidate will then be admitted to the selected program.

Degree wise Admission Process

BA: Admission to BA courses will be merit-based. The percentage score in the qualifying exam (Plus Two) is to follow the eligibility criteria set by HPU. The college has a sanctioned intake of 120 seats in BA.

B.Com: The admission process in B.Com follows the same merit-based scheme. The selection is based on the percentage score in Plus Two, taking into account the eligibility criteria by HPU. The sanctioned intake for B.Com is 120 seats.

BCA: For the admission of Bachelor of Computer Application courses (BCA), merit is determined by the percentage score obtained in the qualifying exam (Plus Two). Admission shall be subject to the eligibility criteria prescribed by HPU. The college offers 60 seats under the BCA program.

BBA: The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) course is also merit-based. The securing of percentage score in the Plus Two this is in line with the eligibility criteria by HPU. The approved intake for BBA is 60 seats.

B.Sc Medical and Non-Medical: Both programs, B.Sc Medical and B.Sc Non-Medical courses, admit students according to the merit system. The final merit list will be drawn based on the percentage score obtained in the plus two-accredited qualification examination as per the eligibility criteria prescribed by HPU.

PGDCA: The Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application admission (PGDCA) will be on merit, merit is most likely to depend on performance associated with the finished undergraduate degree.
