Admission Process

IIM Indore will adopt a three-stage selection process (I) Eligibility criteria (II) Shortlist for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) (III) Final Selection. Selection criteria for each of the stages are given as under:

Stage-I: Eligibility Criteria

All applicants who apply for the two-year PGP of IIM Indore must satisfy the eligibility criteria mentioned in CAT advertisement and also the minimum sectional percentile and overall percentile scores in CAT. Only those applicants meeting the specified criteria will be considered for Stage-2 of the selection process.

Stage-II: Shortlist for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI)

Only those candidates satisfying the requirements mentioned in Stage-I will be considered for this stage of shortlisting for WAT and PI. A sufficient number of candidates for WAT and PI for each category (General, NC-OBC, SC, ST, and PwD) will be shortlisted using the merit list generated based on Composite Score (CS).

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA {45% in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) categories}, awarded by any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.
  • The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be based on the practice followed by the institution/university from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case of the candidate being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. In case the institution/university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result by 100.
  • Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. Such candidates must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar/Director of the institution/University certifying that they are currently in the final year/ awaiting final results and have obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category) based on latest available grades/marks. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar/Director of the institution/University stating that they have completed all the requirements (the result may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.

I think that despite the large batch size, the placement body is able to get all the students placed. The faculty is cooperative and the campus is beautiful. Food is available at all times and it is a campus that never sleeps with many national b-school competition winners,

Called by the students as Planet-I, IIM Indore is one of the most beautiful campuses among the IIMs. With a rigorous curriculum for which IIMs are known for, students will be 24/7 engaged with project works, presentations and it's the planet that never sleeps. The case study pedagogy simulates an actual board room discussion with students and professors bringing out various perspectives and solutions. The guest faculty associated with the institute are top level executives of top companies. So the veterans talking about their experiences brings the practical aspects of handling the business. One such experience we had was for the elective Brand Management taken by Prof. Rajesh Srivastava, Former President of J. K. Helene Curtis. For students interested in Marketing and Marketing research there are a plethora of options which helps in honing their skill sets. Special workshops and electives are available for the students which are extremely useful for AMR job profiles. One of the interesting programs from IIM Indore is the rural immersion program where students are sent to rural areas of Madhya Pradesh. It's one such program which makes students aware of the grass root level issues and they understand the psyche of rural India. It makes them ready for rural stints post placements. Budding entrepreneurs can have a hands on experience through the Entrepreneurial cell. JAM (Juices and More) had been one such initiative which was run by students. The cultural events like Durga Puja, Diwali, Holi, Dandiya nights, special regional dinners are a sight to watch. Students get to have the authentic dishes during the regional dinners for festivals like Onam. The DJ nights come as a respite. Students work hard and party harder. The latest addition to the infrastructure is the sports complex with tennis court, squash court, steam and sauna facilities. The screening of the latest movies in the auditorium on the weekends is the newest addition to the activities on the campus. Last but not the least, the average package is around placements 15-16 LPA with more finance companies rolling out the offers, followed by Sales and Marketing, and Consulting companies.
