Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU), Wayanad offers admissions to the B.V.Sc Animal Health programme based on NEET scores and to theM.V.Sc programme based on the merit of the entrance test followed by an interview conducted by the authorities of the university. Students also have to appear for the counselling process conducted by the institute. Also, students have to visit the university campus to get their documents verified and pay the admission fees. Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University has a fully-equipped gymnasium, counselling services, computer centre, an auditorium known as Kabani and an open-air theatre named as Chandragiri for the staff and students of KVASU. KVASU college was founded by the government of Kerala. The University possesses 3 major departments including the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the Department of Dairy Science and, the Department of poultry science and holds eight constituent colleges in various districts of Kerala. The college comes among the top colleges of veterinary and animal sciences. And also it has been ranked 8th by the ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research).
The courses offers by the KVASU are B.V.Sc & AH, B.Sc, B.Tech at undergraduate level and M.V.Sc, M.Tech, M.S., and M.Sc. at postgraduate level. The college also provides Ph.D. programs. Entrance examinations like NEET-UG, KEAM, and AIEEA-UG are accepted for admission to UG courses. PG and Ph.D. admissions are accepted based on merit in University Written Exam.

Central Instruments laboratory is the central facility with state-of-the-art analytical instruments to fulfil the needs of the faculty and research scholars in the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Kerala University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy, Trichur. Central Instrumentation Facility is well equipped with high-value sophisticated instruments. The facilities are extensively used by Post Graduate Students, Doctoral Research Scholars and Sponsored Projects for Advanced Research. This facility is also extended to External Organisations, mainly academic institutions of the region on a nominal chargeable basis.
