Suryadatta Law College, Pune Admission Process

Suryadatta Law College is Pune's latest entrant in legal studies, and still a relatively young college in Maharashtra. The college has set a structured admission process, to be followed as per the state's common entrance test for law programs. Suryadatta Law College is affiliated to the Bar Council of India (BCI) and, thus, follows the admission process according to the norms prescribed by the regulatory bodies. All admissions at Suryadatta Law College take place through the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law (MH CET Law). Such aspirants lay down the path to various law courses as offered by the college. MH CET Law is usually held in March, and the forthcoming version of the exam is scheduled for March 19-20, 2025, to be taken online.

For the academic year 2025-26, a candidate should attempt the MH CET Law, which will enable one to pursue courses at Suryadatta Law College. The exam tests the ability and knowledge evaluated against standard legal studies of the candidates via the admission process that follows; Suryadatta Law College implements a merit-based seat allocation using the scores in the MH CET Law. Eligibility criteria include the generally acceptable completion of 10+2 or equivalent from an accredited board. A candidate must meet particular educational requirements, which vary according to the different programs. The candidate is expected to check on eligibility criteria as part of the course information obtained from the prospectus or website.

Application Process

The Suryadatta Law College application process is MAH CET Law centric, especially in the case of admissions for BA LLB programs. Given below is a step-by-step process explaining the application procedure:

1. Registration for MH CET Law: The candidate should first register for the MH CET Law examination as per the official website. Typically, this requires completing an online application form and payment of the examination fee.

2. Entrance exam: Appear for the MH CET Law exam on the scheduled dates (March 19-20, 2025 for the incoming academic year) as the exam would be conducted in an online mode and consists of evaluation of candidates' legal aptitude and general knowledge.

3. Result and scorecard: The candidates will have to wait just a little after the examination for the announcement of the results concerning MH CET Law to keep them timely posted. Thereafter, successful candidates will get a scorecard needed for further steps in the admission process.

4. College Application: Following the announcement of MH CET Law results, qualified candidates could apply to Suryadatta Law College, which may include completion of the respective college application form, as well as submission of the same alongside relevant documents.

5. Document Submission: Prepare and submit all necessary documents, which typically include:

  • MH CET Law scorecard
  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets
  • Proof of date of birth
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Any other documents specified by the college

6. Counseling and Seat Allocation: Participate in the counseling process based on which allocation is made according to your MH CET Law scores and preferences.

7. Admission Confirmation: If selected, you're expected to pay the necessary fees and complete more formalities as prescribed by Suryadatta Law College in confirming your admission.

Degree wise Admission Process

BA LLB: The flagship program at Suryadatta Law College is the BA LLB course with an approved intake of 60 seats. Admission to this integrated five-year law program is conducted through the MAH-LL.B CET Exam. Candidates qualifying in the entrance test will be considered for admission based on merit through the subsequent counseling procedure.
