About Mysore University
Mysore University was established in the year 1916. The establishment of the university was the result of the efforts of Maharaja of erstwhile Princely State of Mysore His Highness Shri Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar - IV (1884-1940), and the then Diwan Sir M. Visvesvaraya (1860-1962). The university is also known as UOM (University of Mysore). UOM is recognised by the University Grants Commission and the university is recognised as University with Potential for Excellence (UPE) in 2009 by the UGC. The university is approved by the by All India Council for Technical Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi. Mysore University has 63 PG Departments that offer a total of 76 Postgraduate Programmes and it has more than 1,20,000 UG, PG, M.Phil, and PhD students.
Mysore University is located at Crawford Hall, Vishwavidyanilaya Karya Soudha, K.g, Koppal, Saraswathipuram, Mysuru in Karnataka. Chamarajapuram Railway Station is approximately 2 km away from the university. Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru is around 210 km away from the varsity. KSRTC is approximately 2 km away from Mysore University. Candidates can hire a taxi to reach the campus.

According to the UOM admission criteria, admission to the B.Arch and B.Plan programme is based on the scores of National Aptitude Test in Architecture conducted by the Council of Architecture. For admission to BA LLB/B.Com LL.B/B.P.Ed. programmes, candidates need to qualify an entrance exam conducted by the respective departments. Mysore University admission to all the PG courses except for MBA/M.Tech/MCA is based on the marks secured by the students in the admission test conducted by the university. UOM admission to the M.Tech/MBA/MCA programme is based on Post Graduate Common Entrance Test conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority. For PhD admission candidates will be selected on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance exam, performance in the interview

In order to get admission for M.Sc Physics course you need to complete your Bsc with Physics and Mathematics with at least 55% minimum. The duration of this course is of 2 years.
To get a free seat in Mysore University that means in order to be eligible for scholarship to study M.SC course you need to score atleast 80% above and there are other criteria too that you need to follow. The information about scholarship norms is available only at the college office.
